The supermarket Tesco has caused outrage by ending its long standing support for a major British cancer charity while at the same time deciding to sponsor Britain's largest gay festival.

Clearly up against it because they don't approve of homosexual relationships, yet they and their creationist (presuming most of them are) beliefs would rather see money invested in science to save people. And there was me thinking they could rely on faith....go figure...

They've raised 7 million for Cancer research & are giving Gay Pride 30k, They are also Not stopping supporting Race for Life & will still be Paying there staff who take part, Quite a large amount of money.

Well, I'm not mad, Tesco's contribute to many charities, and the lady who does Race for Life said it came to a natural end for them both. It's just the religious lot getting on their high horse against Pride. To be honest, that article reeks of homophobia from the religious lot. THEY aren't in touch with ordinary families, which, I can imagine, will have at least one gay relative in them? I have two gay relatives!

I actually have a similar feel about this. I know the origins etc... But there would be outcry if someone started a ''straight pride'' festival...

errm they're giving pride 30 grand when they give out over 60 million a year...

This is funny, tesco did not actually switch who they sponsor but just happened to give them £30k at the same they time they dropped cancer research.
