Outrage as Tesco backs gay festival... but drops support for cancer charity event

Also it is unfair on the parents if your son / daughter is a homosexual as it ends the family name / family tree.

If either of my sons or daughters turn out to be homosexual when they grow up so be it; the only unfairness would be if I treated them any differently, which I would not as I am not a small minded bigoted individual.

And people like you are the exact reason why these gayy pride events still exist. To call you brainwashed, ignorant, and unbelivably wrong / uneducated on this topic would be an understatement.

You're not wrong but these parades also drive a further wedge with the bigoted.
None of my gay friends have ever felt the urge to go on a gay parade.

I would disagree. No idea if it's just the neck of the UK I live in, but while most young people seem pretty accepting of it there are definitely plenty of people who are still strongly against it. There was a big fuss not that long ago when a certain politician around here described homosexuality as an abomination.

Like I said earlier, it may not be as bad as it was, but there is still plenty of homophobia about.

People against homosexuality are being weeded out and hounded though, it's certainly on the decline. The OP is an example of this, personally if he wants to think like that it's his loss but he's going to get flamed pretty hard for it.

You're always going to get those against homosexuality, but as a problem it's certainly dropped in the past few years.

Personally I treat people like... people. Doesn't matter to me if someone is pink, blue, green, or even likes sex with bicycles. If they're a decent person, i've got no problem with them. If they're not, then I don't give them the time of day.

Also, a "Straight Pride" parade would never be allowed to happen, whether it was aimed at offending homosexuals or not. To me, that's a problem, and part of the reason for my comments.

To you the problem is a vague assumption that you wouldn't be allowed to do it without proof or ever having asked?

Good grief.

They are the minority. Heterosexuals have not had to live in fear over the years, for being attracted to the same sex.

You don't always have to ask to know the answer to a question. Ever tried common sense?

ermm to say "you'd never get permission to hold a straight pride parade" you kinda do need to ask.

As after all common sense tells you that you would be allowed to hold one, not that you wouldn't.

I have no interest in holding a straight parade, simply because I don't care about shouting it from the rooftops.

I do, however, know that you don't need to ask to know that it'll be flatly refused on the grounds that some homosexuals will see it as an attack on them, even if it wasn't.

So the orange order marches, Why aren't they banned?

if vague "offence" is enough to get a parade banned why on earth is genuine historical evidence of trouble not?

Also BNP rallies/public meetings they all get permission just fine?

the reason we don't have a straight pride march is no one really cares not because the gays are oppressing you.
