***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

On my new Gnex right now- absolutely love it! Had it ordered on payg from 3 (i have a 3 sim only plan so intended to just stick my sim in) but was literally walking past a phones4u on my way to the train station and thought heck ill just have a wee look, 5 mins later (still in time for my train) i walked out with a sim free version:D as a long, long time iOS convert (was totally unimpressed with the 4s and had already pre-emptivly sold my 4) i can safely say that android as reached, and in many respects overtaken iOS as an operating system...so any other people on the edge of making the leap from apple to google, i say do it!

If the screen on my galaxy note is much better than the screen on the SII then the screen on the nexus will be much better too, especially considering it's a higher DPI.

Never any doubt in my mind it would look far better on the Nexus than it does on the GS2, might have to get one of these :p

At least you've got an easier job of getting one than me! :(

I'm sure this phone would suit you, I wondered where you had gone!

A few answers to various questions:
Guys that were filming at the line were from the Google Office.
Bluetooth works and ive been using a Sony WM600 with it. Try Rescanning several times.
The screen is much better than the S2 although colours are not as vibrant - more realistic.
Volume Wise - Call volume is much much better than HTC devices. I had call colume at 100% with a DHD and on here i only have it at about 50%
Speaker Volume Wise - slightly higher than a DHD but with clearer sound
Connecting to a Computer is no problem. You'll get used to it :P In fact i prefer it as you dont have to unmount the storage which caused me a few issues with various apps before.

A WARNING!!!
If you think you will ever root your device do it as soon as you get it.
When rooting it will factory reset your phone meaning all your settings etc will be lost.

For anyone who has a problem with your apps restoring from the market on a new device:
Do a factory reset and it should work, sometimes the market gets an error when first setting up the phone.

Colours look great, text still looks a bit fuzzy/out of focus/canvas painting for me (prefer solid white text) but it's not something to complain about :p

The white balance is terrible when taking photos and films in medium to low level lighting.

Also any idea how to get spell check and auto complete in text fields like here. Works fine in messaging but not web browsing?

Also forgot to add that Spotify works perfectly fine with it and even seems to have a few UI updates.

Face unlock is better set with your face slightly smaller then the circle it shows. This way it unlocks as a greater range of distances.

Battery life:
I thought it was terrible... But that was because i was installing lots of apps and setting it up.
With over 300 emails a day as well as 1 hour worth of audio calls and approx 50 whats app messages its not at 41% after 23 hours. This was my normal usage. Tomorrow i will do some more tests with 2 hours of bluetooth music via Spotify as well as some games and some video calls. Will report back soon.

don't get me wrong the text looks great and is better, what i mean is the colours are not quite and vibrant as the S2, its just my view, and not for one min am i unhappy with the screen.

so how do you transfer data over then? my pc sees the phone via the USB, i can pull files off but cant copy over
