The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Guys if I buy this for PC in a shop, is there an achievements system like the Games for Windows Live ones that link to my Xbox gamertag?

The game is Steamworks (the key registers on Steam), not Games for Windows Live. You'll get Steam achievements, but none that will link to your XBL gamertag.

Woop enchanting 100. Gutted to find out that to put two enchants on an item it has to be done at the same time, i.e I can't put an extra enchant on my already enchanted armour.

Ok after messing around and tweaking the game to my liking I've decided to restart and play "properly" this time.

But I'm having a bit of trouble at character creation. I didn't pay much attention to it the first time, but I simply cannot see the difference between eye colours (argonian). It doesn't help that there's no real way to zoom in to the face, so I've got to squint at the screen and try to make out the difference (if any).

Anyone playing an argonian able to help on eye colour selection?
Anyone?

Maybe I'd better get a magnifying glass to the screen... :p

Yea the flame atronach summon is so much better than any companion :D

I'm not levelling or perking my conjuration yet though, but it seems that it would have been a lot more useful to perk it first than Alteration is.

Funny enough a bow is the only Daedric weapon I have found. Went straight up on the weapon plaque since I don't use bows, it does look awesome though.

Daedric armor not only looks better than heavy dragon armor, it has higher base armor value. Dragon Plate armor is ugly as sin and is beige.

Yeah, I spent about 5hrs last night getting myself up to 100 on smithing for the dragon armour, and was quite disappointed in its appearance!

I am a mage, so will probably just wear dragon scale boots and gauntlets most of the time with a hooded mages robes + a mask for maximum magicka buffs.

I am almost at 100 for enchantment, so I can get some excellent enchantments now as well. I have tried to fireproof my companion as much as possible as I keep on killing her with fireballs!

Quick question - Does it matter what armour I wear if I want to play primarily a mage type? Am wearing the first robe I found with armour value but 50% quicker magicka but am getting owned by anything I can't kill quickly.

Hell yeah! Free Fireballs, +114 carry, 64% magic regen and 38% frost resistance :D

Spoiler tags still won't bloody work for me else I would have put it in one of them.

I've given up on Companions as well, they're more trouble than they're worth.

They set of traps, block passages, ignore enemies and get in your way whilst fighting.

I much prefer my Flame Atronach, she at least has the decency to explode when she inevitably dies.

My companion is needed primarily as a pack horse to cart stuff around. This includes my pick axe, no way I am lugging that around myself. It would be nice if I could order her to mine for me as well!

Apart from the one in the Companion Guilds' hall, where on earth is one meant to find Daedra Hearts? It took a lot of Googling just to find out the location of that supposedly obvious one...

Armour doesn't affect your spells in any way. I think heavy armour slows you down and is heavy (duh) until you get the perks for it, hence why I have opted for light armour in my screen above.

What armour is the best? is it worth spending a few hours training smithing or something to be able to make my own armour? and how can I afford the bars to use for smithing?
