Absolutely raging at the purple shirt crew!

Well as ive just returned from a shift at the purple place, if you came in, went and got the cartridge yourself and didnt check, then its your own fault at the end of the day, inks are opened and we cant resell them once opened...

In the past my store would just exchange for the ones you needed, but im not sure how things work regarding that aspect now.

I think the only thing I have that was bought from there was my Xbox 360. Surprisingly, it still works, after two and a half years

To be fair, as someone working in the blue shirted affiliates of the purple shirts, I would've just faulty'd them back and moved on to my next customer. That's because I am both kind and lazy. If you're a Dick to me then I might get all businessy on you, but only if you were rude or if I thought you were trying it on with me.

If you come to bristol i'll happily return them for you. :)

In some ways this sounds understandable. If you buy ink for the printer, and it turns out to be the wrong ink....but you've opened the cartridge and plugged it into your printer = now unresellable, you can understand them not wanting it back. If the store is in the wrong/the cartridge says it will work with a specific machine and doesn't then you have a comeback, but the only way to really prove that is to show them the printer as well. Otherwise who's to say you haven't bought the wrong cartridge and your just trying to cover your ass and get the one you should have bought in the first place. You could be just saying to the store "yes I have printer X and it doesn't work", when in fact you have printer Z and you bought the wrong damn ink... why should the store pay for your mistake.

for those asking its official ink and the ink listed on the HP website, HP have also admitted that some cartridges can occasionally have problems.

still doesnt matter, if you open the cartridge, and you make the mistake of the wrong one, the store does not have to refund due to cmr error. Normally they just return it, but as someone else said, if your a pain when speaking to someone, they dont have to do a thing

But its not the wrong one? Its a faulty cartridge.

yup faulty!
I wasn't a pain, well I wzs venting to them on the phone st their atrocious idea.
its the store that needs to prove and find s fault and I will be wanting compensation of having to bring in a printer.

To be fair, they're used to n00bs and old people. I honestly think they're trying to help with that store policy.

Then again, I have only had good experiences with them because hey do have some awesome store managers :)

Take the printer, and also take a golf club. Either:

-Rage the printer to pieces on the counter if it fails to work with the cartridges, or;

-Rage the printer to pieces on the counter if it decides to work out of contempt

Film this.

Surely also asking for an exchange for the same model of cartridges would have worked in your favour better, as that way there could be no doubt that you just bought the wrong ones and are trying to return them. At the end of the day you would have new cartridges for future use, having already bought some.

The only doubt though might be if they thought you were trying to pull a fast one returning empty cartridges!

well tomorrow I will be asking to speak to a store manager

Judging by your manner on here its hardly suprising you didnt get anywhere in the branch. No doubt though youll go in ranting and raving and get what you desire.

Also I would like a link to hp's website where it says the ink you have bought is "sometimes faulty". Seems a bit odd to me.

no I went I in all polite and calm and was approached by a member of staff, I think its an atrocious bit of customer service to expect a customer to bring I their own printer to prove that and item is faulty.
I found it on the HP forum and my touchpad isn't showing the same google results as my desktop.

But that's what makes me laugh, you care that much about how many £M's your big company makes so you get all "businessy" on them? Was it your business I would understand and agree with your approach, but if you're a chimp for a big company I'd just think "jobs worth *****" and laugh at you. Not saying I'd be rude though, I'm usually quite polite, shame about some staff.

Just sayin,

You've misread my post. What I said was that I would've ignored the correct process unless you were a *****, at which point I would use it to inconvenience you. Nowhere did I state that I cared about 10 quid worth of ink being incorrectly returned to my beloved company.
