I just Aqua Cars because they are the cheapest and nicest in my local area and always pay by cash and always give £1 tip....the tip thing even in London
Aqua cars are good, and reasonable (thank god) but there isn't any other choice. The council ones are a rip off, and Andi cars is owned by Aqua.In fact I always play a game with the drivers, I bet them that the next car (normally at 2am) is an Aqua cars, car. It always will be because at 2am in Pompey there are no other cars on the road, there litterally is about 1000 Aqua cabs on the roads.

City Wide drivers have been horrible to me in the past too
where as Aqua cars never have!

The sheer outrage of using technology to get yourself home! It's awful! Go end up in a ditch somewhere!
But it's really quite handy? I use it all the time and it's significantly faster and more convenient than using cash (although you can do that too), and infinitely better than using a black cab. There's nothing that's quite as crap as a black cab. It's amazing how everytime I do use a black cab they moan about A-Lee, yet carry on driving around in the biggest pile of **** that exists on the roads. No wonder people avoid them.ha, living in London one of the biggest cities in the world, city that never sleeps and people have to go to their Iphonebecause they are inept at going to a cash machine while "tipsy"

a lot dont even have meters anymore... and just quote you randomly the cost of the journey based on how likely your going to pay it..
one tried to charge my stepson 15 quid for a 5minute journey that only takes 15minutes to walk
my stepson said i might aswell just walk and the guy said a fiver, i suspect he originaly said 15quid because my son came out of a club and the guy just assumed hes a drunk teenager or something but he was just getting out of work, i bet loads of people get taken advantage of
This happened to me in Wolves, but I had no idea where I was and was heading to some chicks house. So I paid it of course, he drove around for quite a while dropped me off.
In the morning I walked past the club on the way to the train station, was no more than a 10 minute walk away!

It's a real morons cop out to try and claim real world, the people who you are having a go against could easily reverse it, as in "poor people like you make me sick, not being able to afford the high life and getting mad at successful people with no logic instead of working hard, live in the real world!"
I used to get a black cab from Heathrow to West Drayton on a regular basis when I worked up there. Every damn time without fail the driver would have a rant at me about how it was a short journey and he came to the airport to make big money, not do silly jobs like this.

It's almost as if Addison Lee pick their drivers because they've got the general bad habits of black cab drivers but with an added dose of arrogance in how they drive. I've never been inside an Addison Lee cab so don't know if that's borne out in their manner to passengers but it's the impression I get when driving about - when I see a black Ford Galaxy on the roads now I find myself wondering how long before it does something stupid and almost invariably it will do and it'll have that white writing on the back.
Maybe it's somewhat self-selecting though, there are lots of terrible drivers here but most of them don't have anything to identify them in a group the way Addison Lee do.
I often tip but in return get given mysteriously over-priced receipts.
I remember when I last got into a taxi in Hanley. I was only going to Northwood but it was bloody cold and I may have had one to many to walk it. The guy then tried to tell me it was going to be £15 because of it being cold. After a few harsh words it came down to £5. Absolutely ridiculous.

Black hack drivers in Glasgow sit a knowledge test whereby they are given a start and end destination and need to state the route they would take. These destinations are not just streets either e.g. you pick up from central station and the fare wants to go to club Arta, state the route.
So they don't just need to know street, they also need to know where places are.
