***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

I like to maintain resale value. The way I see it is scratches will mean I lose money in the long term.

The solution is an invisible shield or similar product for the back and sides and a high quality screen protector that is almost invisible to the eye but these will take a few weeks to be available I'm sure.

No idea, it's tied to those two samsung phones only.

It's all down to barclays/orange if they decide to release the app on the market, time will tell.

But like i said, i have both cards so can jump straight in if it makes a showing.

But anyway, can't wait to get my nexus, handtec are still saying the 21st and i got in nice and early, so we shall see come tomorrow.

Will this be coming to the Galaxy Nexus

So having owned a GS2 for a while before i washed it :/, what do you chaps going from that phone to the Nexus think they compare ?.

Not overly bothered about the camera/video as once the novelty wears off I don't use it much after, but does the overall feel of ICS make this a phone to get now and the extra screen resolution really make it that much better.

I haven't got mine yet, but pretty much every single person on the earth at this moment in time is signing the praises of ICS.

good to see there is a fix for the speaker volume
and also very important for me a RGB led, this is one of the essential things I need after using my htc desire

I guess my final worries now are...

contract price
battery life
camera quality (can anyone answer compared to the htc desire..which is dire)

battery life seems ok, one thing i noticed from my SGS2 is that is does not use as much battery overnight or when its not in use.

camera is ok, little bit off the SGS2 but lots better than the desire.

ok looks like I'm going to try and get it.

best new contract price I can find is 31£ per month on 24months and cashback cancels out the initial cost of the phone, would pay that over 18 months but not 24.

going to try my current providers retentions service but doubt they can better it, otherwise I'll wait out a better price. Need 750mb of data

are people currently getting best price on contract in store/over phone/retentions etc etc?

I think when comparing it to the S2 we have to look at the facts, It is still Samsungs flagship, even though they made the Nexus. Most people aren't going to buy the Nexus, the S2 is still a great phone, better camera and thinner. If we have learned anything from Samsung, it's that they will have a new and better phone in a few months that they can call their own, the S3 perhaps??? Based on last year, they will want to push a phone out sooner rather than later. This will be to beat the iphone 5 if it comes out in July.
The main reason i bought this phone is for the pure Android experience, no Samsung crap, no network software, just Android.

I got the following

Phone Free
18 month contract
400 mins
750 meg net
Unlimited texts
Orange
28.50 per month

The above was a upgrade with P4U and works out £513 over 18 months

how did you ever manage to get that? Its much much better than anything else I have seen? I would jump at that contract now. I'm on T-Mobile atm however :-(

I have a feeling the guy cocked up as my order was delayed for over a week but I had already agreed to contract...

sounds likely, don't even know if I can get to one of those stores as they are 24 miles away, too far to go and come back with nothing.

I wonder if my best bet is retentions with thethreat of leaving?

edit. Phones 4u don't work with T-Mobile anyways
