She buys me clothes and things, she spent over £100 in London on me the other week, I think if my step dad wasn't there and if I didn't enjoy buying my own food so much, she'd still buy my food too. Trust me, my mums brilliant, and I appreciate her to the max

Okay fair enough :)
I hate saying stuff like that about family members but sometimes it helps :(
Sorry for saying those things :(

It's okay, I just don't want any one thinking bad of my mum, it's all my step dad

Behave, or I'll post a picture of my wang to scare you all away!

Okay okay!! Stopped now :p

Thank's for the suggestions every one, more will be welcomed, any thing to stop netgear being a pain in the butt

Globul your step-dad sounds like a right miserable controlling ****! Does he like strawberry jam on his cerial or toast? If yes the next time you're on your period give the old boys jam jar a top up. :)

There we go - flog the clothes - money for a dongle problem solved

And a VPN can be blocked just as easily than any other traffic

Fiddle router. If theres a PC which has password memorized you can easily view it. Back it up and restore it if need be.

But seriously, somebody needs to tell him to open his eyes a little.

Jesus. Your mum buys you a meal a week and some jam.. and you're grateful.

I think if I was you I'd have gone quite literally bat **** insane because of the way your parents have "brought you up"

One dangles the carrot in front of you
The other cuts three quarters off of it.

It cannot be good for your mental health living that way.
I almost feel like buying you a damn dongle and saying Happy Christmas, because it sounds like you need something positive going on in your life.

Are there other issues going on that we don't know about that has kept you at home?
What are you studying, what job do you currently have?

Oh, she buys me loads of other things as well, like clothes and beauty stuff ect, she just leaves me with the responsibility of my own food, helping me out every week with a few bits.

I am all right, nothing wrong with me except having a strict step father! I am studying at college, a BTEC and I have a part time job at GAME

True but I really doubt her step dad is firing up wireshark every night to perform network analysis.

Just like he isnt selectively blocking web content

Truth be told though it will only be a tick box - it isnt hard...you dont need to sniff traffic to block a VPN - there are only a few ports and protocols which will pretty much kill any VPN setup

block UDP 500 IKE PHase 1 VPN negotiation - job done
add Protocols 50 and 51 and wave goodbye to any IPSEC VPN Phase 2
