Craig- Xfactor young and fat....Not even slightly overweight but massive for such a young age.

Both his parents interviewed were massive too.

It winds me up when I'm out and about with my daughter...We pop into KFC before the cinema and we see Fat kids same age as her with Fat parents...

Then we see the same kids in the queue in the cinema over the road with their Fat parents....Guess what? The parents buy them Pop corn and pop too.

This is child abuse imo...

If I take my daughter to the cinema she chooses what she wants as a treat...Popcorn or KFC as a treat...The thought of buying both makes me sick.

So for all you fat kids out there who live at home with your parents...I don't blame you..I blame them....I stop my daughter playing on her console ,laptop and tell her to go out on her bike with her mates...climb trees and steal apples...Walk the dog take him to the beach...I have the power to stop her sitting there...I'm her dad..I care about her and her well being. Unless for medical reasons one should not have fat kids...Either your are over feeding them....allowing them to wallow at home or giving them to much money in order for them to buy crap food.

Rant Over

To be honest, I agree slightly, if a child is of age where they are not responsible for their own intake of food, it is often the parents fault that they are obese. It is a form of child abuse, you are harming the child by over feeding!!

Indeed.

I wish I had the money to spend on KFC and Popcorn for a family of 4...

As they leave they get into a banger car and drive off...Condisering a KFC is around 5 quid each and popcorn 3 quid and pop 2.50and cinema TICKETS thats around £100 for an afternoon at the cinema.

Wonder how they can afford that?

Me the Tax payer paying for benefit as the parents are probaly both on sick for not being well enough to work due to be clinically obese.

It's definitely something I've noticed before. If the parents take no responsibility over their own diet, the least they can do is try and give their children a chance. But it rarely happens...

I'd be ****ed if I was 10 or 11 and it started to dawn on me my parents had plumped me up the past 11 years of my life. It's not a great start health-wise - not to mention the potential for bullying.

Nothing wrong with KFC and popcorn... Just as long a it isn't every week!

Ive always been a bit chubby but m diet has, on the whole been healthy.

I do agree with you though. I don't think fattiness is the main problem, lack of education is the reall biggie.

Also, the lack of cohesion and grammar makes me think you're drunk!

Are you saying that because they are overweight they must be poor and/or unemployed as well??

I was seriously overweight for a time, it never stopped me working and it didn't significantly impact on anyone other than myself.

People are overweight for a myriad of reasons, so are kids. Making sweeping generalisations and judgements without the facts is both foolish and pointless.

I was well overweight when I was younger and was encouraged to play lots of sports - football, golf, tennis and so on. A combination of eating too much (my own choice) and simply being young and not fully developed made me about 15 stone and 6ft then about 16-17 stone and 6,3. Grew up, learned about food, grew into my body, kept playing sport and I'm around normal weight now at a little under 13 stone and 6,4.

It wasn't my parents fault I was huge, they treated my brothers the same and neither of them was a child fatty.

What about skinny parents with fat kids?

So what are they feeding them?

Are they allowing them to sit in front of TV after school.

Are they giving them to much money to buy crap?

Being weak Parents?

" Mum I don't like that cabbage"

"Thats ok dear I'll do you something else"

We eat as a family and if anyone doesn't like anything they don't eat it. otherwise they go Hungry.

From an early age though after this was instilled in the kids they eat anything now...Love Veg, Love curries, and love to try new things.

Even sprouts now are engulfed my the kids on christmas day and sunday dinners.

TBH now my kids like pretty much everything...ok they like some things more than others but they enjoy good food.

We went for a pup meal the other week and there was a kids menu...

Chicken nuggets beans chips, burger chips and beans etc...all that crap.

I said what do you want? They all said they wanted steak pie peas and mash...Its the culture of the british that we have these crap menus for kids...

God I sound like Jamie Oliver who I hate with a passion. I think I hate him as I have been doing this for years already without his patronising.:p

Parents are responsible for the wellbeing of their children. If their children are obese, then that is a failure on the parents' part and is tantamount to negligence bordering on child abuse.

HANG THEM!

Culture, poverty and poor education has it's place in child obesity.

As above ^ Sweeping generalisations are silly things to make.

PS....make fat people pay for 2 seats on planes. :p
