New mobo for 2600K - OC is a must

Need a new mobo, wanting to OC as high as i can! 5GHZ or more be ideal!

I7 2600K BATCH# L107B424 (duno if thats good or not)
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
Corsair H60 or H80

I presume Z68 is the way to go but what board is best

Asus P8P67 Pro gets my vote.

Was going to try and use the on board or fit a cheap card

You want a z68 if you want to be able to use the cpu's gpu and over clock at the same time.

My Z68XP-UD3P has seen clocks upto 5.4GHZ so far, if that is any help.

I can get the board for £95 which aint bad! Got any links to your clocks?

You wont get a very good OC with a 2700k and an all in one watercooler loop.

People have been getting 60-70 degrees with triple rads and proper watercooling.

I just had a look around and i've all the bits for a proper WC setup!

Laing DDC DIYINK 12W
HW LABS SR-1 560 (all custom shrouds, stand and fans)
EK DDC V2
EK Superme HF with #6 nozle

I'll have to garb some tubing localy, bodge a res togther and grab some di water but i've 2kw cooling there!

If its extreme clocking your looking to do, nothing beats the Asus Maximus range....

I Thought it was 90% to do with the chip and 10% with the mobo? But I could be wrong

The stronger power phases on the top end boards help with overclocking

You should probably go for this version of my motherboard, right now it is on offer at a great price, and it has more power phases. Based on what i've seen with my lesser version, that version should be rock solid and bang on for high perma overclocks.
