Hi

Is anyone able to answer a question which has been bugging me?

The Silver Arrow's 1156 back-plate is currently blocked by the CPU retention back-plate on the board itself so I am unable to fit it, someone has told me to remove the back-plate on the board, but I am worried it might break and screw things up...

Is it safe to remove? as it is unclear on any forum / instructions I have come across.

Also see below a video of someone who installed it over the back-plate on a different board (2.22)

Many thanks for anyone who can help.

Make sure you DONT use the little black square that fits in the SA backplate like he does in the video. I'm not 100% sure that's what you're problem is but i did not have to remove anything when i installed a SA on the same motherboard.

I might give it another try tonight then, do you think the metal on metal will cause any issues as it seems like a tight fit?

I have noticed you have a very similar setup to me as well, same case, processor but you have the gen 3 board, mine is the old one.

Do you mean for the backplate? If so then i should sit pretty much flush. If it doesn't the screws wont come up enough for you attach the rest of the mounting kit.

As far as i know mounting a cooler on 1155 socket will be the same regardless of the motherboard make or model.
