Just wondering, does anyone do their grocery shopping online? I have never really considered it but Tesco have a cheeky £15 off voucher available at the moment.

Is it cheaper? Easier? Better selection?

Verdict please!

I find it cheaper. Although you have to pay for delivery, you are less likely to be tempted by impulse buys online. Also, it's much easier to browse all the special offers in one place rather than having to walk around the shop to find them.

Most importantly, it means I don't have to fight my way round a supermarket against a tide of ****wits with zero spatial awareness and even less manners  That alone is worth the delivery charge :)

Just did my first online shop. With the £15 voucher and my clubcard points managed to get a bottle of Laphroaig, a bottle of Gordon's, a few months supply of toilet roll and a fair amount of shopping for £30!

I do it every week, mainly as i dont have a car so doing shopping is a pain.

Only thing that does bug me is them not having some things in and then they leave it off rather than substituting it.

Also if you book the time slot and they dont arrive within the 2 hour slot then ring them up and have a grumble and they refund your delivery fee :)

Tesco guy is regularly late around here so i rarely pay for delivery lol

Really? Blimey.

I get online shop from Sainsbury's which is great. I'd suggest signing up for all of them though and trying them out - once you're on the database they'll send you wheedly messages trying to lure you back if you only make one order, so you get £20-off vouchers all over the place. Then you can pick and choose.

I've done online shopping for the big stuff for years now - saves me struggling on foot with loads of loo roll and dog food.

I've started doing it mainly because I don't use my car much anymore (leave it parked in the works carpark!)

I do find it saves me money but I don't tend to order any meat which I'd like to pick myself as you tend to get the crap stuff imo.

Being a student, and therefore not having a car at Uni, Online shopping is the way forward. I'm an Asda shopper. Tesco I found had issues getting their veg out fresh... Often it would be like next day it goes off...

The shop itself is cheaper - as you track how much you spend and it's much easier to find the smart price stuff if you want it.
The getting to the supermarket works out cheaper - £3 delivery < bus fair.
It's much more convenient... Fill up a van with crap
It's much more lazy :)
You get to meet lovely people like Ahleckz
Also, I've had no issues buying frozen food or anything like that off of Asda... Must say though, the people that deliver to me must think I'm a right weirdo... End up ordering like 20 tins of mackerel, 5L of Passata, and 3kg of Pasta in some shops...

I have had a couple of issues where they haven't delivered the right item/missed an item, but it's relatively easy to just get them to refund it. Also have had very few substitutes, but when I have they're always better items.

This is a good idea. I always used to shop online with Tesco. I didn't order for about 6 months and they sent me an email with a money off voucher. I've recently had deliveries from Sainsbury and Waitrose and I intend taking it in turns to ignore them until they send me a money off voucher to entice me back.

How much do you have to spend to get £15 off?
