The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim announced

Why is it such a big deal to have to log into steam to play Skyrim ? I really don't get it  My Steam client boots up and logs in as part of my windows start up and does not bother me in the slightest.

Also, like others have done here verify the game and CTD's stop. Least mine have and thats with a load of the mods installed to. I really don't get why people are moaning so much over this. Yes its a bit of a ball ache but the game still works and the game is still great !

Not had any problems at all, i've had the odd CTD but otherwise game has worked perfectly without any mods, increasing ram the game uses and anything else with all just being default bar a change FOV.

Seems there's already a fix for the new 2gb patch. Bethesda said it helped stop piracy so as long as we can mod it outside Steam then I don't mind. Used to get a bit of stuttering and a CTD until the mod so hopefully wont be affected too badly.

its not the fact i have to run steam without the 4gb aware fix i get blue missing textures and then my game will crash not long after.

without the 4gb fix i crash randomly while playing sometimes its 10-20mins other times i can go an hour or to and i know im not the only one who has this, its the main reason the 4gb aware patch became so well known

how ? the pirates have been playing the game for longer than us , they dont use steam , they dont download updates through steam the only people this is effecting is paying customers

its not the fix thats the problem, its your pc! how come everyone can play the game perfectly fine without the ram fix but you cant?
yea which is why the official forums and the steam forums were getting hammered...

it must have been all me on multiple accounts

As far as I can see, all the quests that were available before are still available now that the Imperials are running the city. The only one I'm having an issue with is Blood on the Ice, which I dunno is related to the fact I took over the city before trying to start the quest.

Really all that changes when you attack the city is the guards all change from Stormcloak to Imperials, the people have new post war dialogue options and theres a new Jarl in the palace. Everything else is the same.

This game has sold how many copies now, is more pirated on the 360, pirates cant play it through steam anyway, and Bethesda punish Steam users?

Are they mad?

Well my main concern is that while attacking the city, unwittingly some NPC's might get themselves killed, blocking some quests.

If that can't happen then nothing to worry about I guess.

Nah that wont be a problem. During the battle sections of the city are smashed and burning and all the regular citizens are indoors, with their doors locked.

Once you come back later the damage is repaired and the people are back out on the streets as normal.

Can you not pick their locks and rob and kill them during the battle ? I never tried it but it would be pretty cool if you could :p lol

Ok, I might have missed it, but still wondering what effects completing the main quest has - whether it stops any other quests, or stops random dragons spawning.

Could make it a true battle viking style, kill the men, rape the women, and pillage the loot.

You're a cruel man Adsta. :p

hehe well you know that was my train of thought. If I was going to be raiding a town as a massive barbarian with huge axes and stuff I am pretty sure that would be the type of thing I would do (in game not in RL  )

Or even as a sneaky assassin you would make the most of a situation like a huge war in a town going on. Sneaking about the battlefield looting houses.

I might have to very well try this when I make my next char. That said I'm playing as an evil mage who (tries) to kill anything that vaguely annoy's him. So looting during a battle would be the least of his concerns he would rather cause as much carnage and killing as possible :p

Was in a village yesterday, this guy runs up to me and says, i got this note for you.

So i looks at the note, it had a black handprint on it, and underneath the handprint it said "we know" lol, ooook??
