lets have the following info

Nightbreaker (not plus)
Size H7
Fitment date July 2010
Death Still alive

just want to see how much of an issue the short life span is.

Size H4
Fitted June 2009
Dead Sept 2009

fitted Sept 2009
dead Oct 2009

Switched to Osram Long life bulbs until going back to Nightbreaker bulbs:
Fitted Sept 2011
Still alive... touch wood :(

Why do people even risk buying Osram bulbs when there are just as good (if not better) bulbs out there without the risk of short term failure, all for the same price?

Because I know how to fit bulbs correctly & mine (h7) have lasted over a year so far?.

A lot of bulbs fail early because people touch them with their fingers.

im quite sure i would have touched the glass on mine, i never pay attention to that rule, and mine are going well after 18ish months

never ever touched with my fingers, but a month life span is stupid, especially when i paid £40 for a pair TWICE in 4 months.

the latest set i got off the bay for £18, because i was doing a trip to somewhere where i knew all the roads had no lighting and i would need the extra light for those 1000miles. So far, so good on those ones. But the extra long life ones are in the boot so i can change them straight away. Last time, they failed in the middle of Wales in the pitch black, NOT fun at all.

the OE headlights on my GF's old fester (pre facelift version of yours) were actually epic (compared to my old golfs, of course)

I'm sure there was a thread similar to this regarding Nightbreakers a while ago (actually, maybe a long while!).

Mine lasted 3 months before one blew (fitted with gloves too just to be safe). I sent it back and they replaced it.

First set of H1 Nightbreakers lasted about 3 years. However they hadn't actually blown when I replaced them, the light output just seemed to have decreased.

Fitted a set of H4's to my wife's car a couple of years ago and they are still fine.

Hi there

Right my findings of the Ring 120+ bulbs:-

First of all it turns out my previous bulbs were also Ring which are rated highly even for their standard bulbs. However what I've noticed is a whiter light, with a much improved dispersal beam, as in I can see pavements, road edge far more clearly now so no close calls with curb/hedge on dark country roads or unlit carriage ways. The beam also seems to extend further as well, certainly less of a change when going to full beam now.

Overall they seem great and have offered an improvement over the previous Ring bulbs in the car.

This is why God invented cheap HID kits!
