Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

No idea lol, I signed up on day of release but got the emblems and titles on Friday (as in 4 days ago, so 1 week and 3 days after signing up) though I suspect most of that was because elite wasn't working. I would expect though if you sign up on pc and xbox/ps3 then they would show up instantly but who knows tbh.

Ok man thanks. I signed up back on the 9th November but decided to upgrade yesterday. It does say up to 48 hrs but due the the problems I have encountered myself with Elite I thought I would ask the question.

What have treyarch ever done that was worth doing?!

Listened to the gaming community for a start.

I love the fact that people are still hung up on this IW > Treyarch thing when it just isn't the case anymore.
I know I for one am already looking forward to Treyarch's next COD outing as are a few of the people I play with.

IW definitely seem to be a bit arrogant and refuse to use any of the stuff Treyarch put in Blops to balance the game. At least Treyarch removed the things people didn't like about MW2 while IW have just left them the same.
I slagged off Blops because of the terrible hit detection but this game is just as bad.

It's not really IW's fault though, I did enjoy MW2 even though it had its problems online it wasn't a bad game and I thought the single player was pretty interesting too. If anything it's Raven and Sledgehammers fault, they had a perfect formula for a fantastic online game and still manage to fudge it up. Did they design the maps too? I wouldn't be surprised.

I never played WaW TBF, so the only thing I have to go on is Black Ops, which was appallingly bad when compared to MW2. The single player was okay but the online was awful. MW2 and 3 both kick it into touch - IMO.

I only have PS3 to go on mind.

Completed the single player on veteran last night (total of just under 8 hours), in the room before you get to Makarov just before Yuri shouts 'the restaurant is through here' I died literally nigh on 30~ times, It got to a point where I was just cracking up in disbelief over the whole ordeal!

Fantastic game though, loved the different POV's I got to play from.

Next task is to grab the 22 remaining intels I left behind, it's a shame there is no intel tracking OUTSIDE of starting the missions though, a real pain in the arse.

Jumped on MP after and start off with a 17-1 score :D please add my gamertag people if you fancy some serious games, I'm on a lot of the time during evenings!

It's just the simple things that really annoy me, such as the stacking kill streaks which were removed from Black Ops, and also the fact that flag signs don't disappear when aiming down the sights like they did on Black Ops.
It's as if IW have said "Well if we do that we are admitting that Treyarch have improved on something we had so we better stick to what we did before"

Obviously its all a matter of personal opinion but for me Black Ops was a much better and much more playable multi-player experience than MW2.
Don't get me wrong I'm enjoying MW3 myself but still do think that BO was a nicer game to play and a lot less rage enducing.

I do agree Treyarch refined certain things with Black Ops like the flags disappearing when ADS, and also captures/defends on the scoreboard, a grid on the mini map and it is very disappointing that IW didn't use these assets in MW3.

Give IW a chance, the game has been out two weeks, a patch has already been released (which some claim has made the game worse) I haven't noticed that, but they are planning on making a lot of changes according to FZT on Twitter, so lets just wait and see.

Never once used the grid it has no place over a set of callouts and the flipside to flags disappearing completely is you can miss the start of a capture or plant.

I agree ...... and yet I don't, blops always seemed to be to be the better more balanced game but I could never find myself spending hours playing it like I did MW2 and have beenon MW3. Blops certainly is a lot less rage enducing though most of the rage points for me in mw3 is the spawn and the lag compensation - both of which I hope could be tweaked through updates. I know others rage about the map design and I agree you never get a flow going to the game like you could in mw2 and blops but I think it makes the game a lot more tense and exciting which I like.

I don't play much domination though I love that treyarch paid attention and improved things that people got annoyed about. They were little things but as it usually is, the little things make a big difference. IW though, I am still very much on the fence regarding their ability to listen to the fans and implement it (look at QS, even worse on 3 than 2 IMO) so planning doesn't cut it for me. Until I see the "this game has an update" I call BS on their plans tbf but am I always willing to be suprised.

Edit:

I didn't use the grid either though it was still a nice touch as it made it easier for people who didn't know the maps. I suspect some people did use them though. I agree you can, though for the time you were ads isn't much and I find the aiming in the general direction of a giant A to stop a capture more annoying than missing a couple of seconds at the start of the capture. Also correct me if I am wrong but doesn't blops give you the "We're loosing A" callout like MW does?

I just played the most bs match of hctdm ever. There was a guy on the other team who got a score of 52 - 6 as you would be dead before you could see him. (for those who don't play that mode the maximum score for a single player is usually the low 30s at the most if they dominate) It was unplayable at my end as you would move then lag for literally 2 seconds before you were back to normal and then repeat. It was like playing a buffering video.

I don't mind host advantage as generally if you get a good host, your connection doesn't suffer too much, but this was ridiculous. I assume this must be the lag compensation as I've never experienced it before.

Yes, but it's unreliable because there can only be one major announcement at a time. I used to exploit this all the time playing Domination with randoms to give me a stealth cap at another flag. Like wise if I hear the announcement I check the ticket on our other flag.

Black Ops was completely broken on the PS3 too. I agree too, I think I prefer BO.

Imagine how short it would be for people who play games on normal. Yeah when you die it still adds to the timer.

Yeah a work mate did it in 9hr which is still much shorter than any of the others - no bad thing though as it was difficult but not fustrating like previous CODs

I guess veteran is easier when you whore the mashing of LT:p

I was having the opposite of this last night as I had switched to wireless to try and stop pulling host. Made everyone in the game move around like they were in a slide show! Me on the other hand had a nice silky smooth game and was basically untouchable. Worse part is it would not host migrate...

Gave up, changed back to a wired connection and everyone got a nice smooth game again (and I had to put up with the lag compensation). :(
