I'm intending to have an upgrade from the pc in me sig to an i5 2500K based pc. I con't need a fully feature rich mobo, just a good quality one that allows a bit of o/clocking, stable, fair number of usb connex, etc, and I'm currently looking at this one

Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68,

I know the "pro" versh has more features but its also nearly £50 more expensive and I can't see the point in paying for stuff I'm probably not gonna use. So...has anyone got any opinions, info, etc on this mobo. I can't find any reviews for it, so any info regarding it's performance would gratefully received.
Cheers in advance.:)

Stop trolling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..we all know you hate Asus and are on some sort of crusade.

How about linking all the happy users out there (like me :) )or good reviews about Asus ,we all know every brand has members posting issues.

Personally I would go with Asus P8Z68V/Gen3(I did) or MSI Z68A G65 G3 or Asrock Extreme4 Gen3.

Trolling? At least I'm suggesting a comparable priced product with reviews to back it up. You ain't helping the op with your suggestion.

Thanks for the info guys, all very useful. Going by the reviews I've speed read for the gigabyte mobo, it appears I've now got a choice of two so far.
@stulid, while I appreciate the info regarding the gigabyte mobo, just saying the word "nope" regarding the asus mobo doesn't really help me at all. Could you expand on your reasoning behind this as I can't make an educated decision without hearing any or all constructive criticism regarding the this motherboard. I can sympathise with anyone who has previously had a bad experience with a particular manufacturer/ hardware, etc, but the reasons "why" would be useful to me in making my decision.:)

Sure thing, a few things going for a the Gigbayte,

1) A UK based RMA center with a 5day average turn around time, certainly save sending a board to another country for repair.

2) DualBIOS, this is a life saver, you cant get a BIOS flash wrong as the back up will always take over and reflash the main BIOS, the recovery also from a bad overclock is good, as it knows the last good settings to boot back up from.

3) ASUS seem to have a lot of reports of boot cycling till it finally boots up,

Also right now the prices are identical:)

I'll point out Asus has CrashFree BIOS 3 on their Z68 boards.

MSI has M-Flash on their Z68 ,info below

Compared to common mainboard which need extra BIOS chips, MSI’s M-Flash has a double advantage which doesn’t need extra components and secondly, all your BIOS data will be saved in the USB drive. The stored data does not only have backup and upgrade function, moreover it can also be seen as a portable BIOS chip which is actually able to boot up your PC.

As to ASUS dual boot cycling check your BIOS settings...there was a post on checking correct BIOS settings over at HardOCP for Z68 Asus boards.

Not the same as DualBIOS thanks;)

Wish someone would tell this guy to check his BIOS settings - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18344039

I see if I can find the thread later but its a simple fix(I posted solution in his thread).

Pretty hard to get a bad bios flash ,I've done it like 50 times never had an issue via USB flashing, also never had to RMA a motherboard in 20 years but hey I got 4 PCs so not like I would need it ASAP ;).

I won't argue and agree Gigabyte 5 day turnaround is handy if you need it.

That certainly is a compelling list there mate:) There does seem to be an issue with these boards, its looking more and more like the gigabyte Z68AP-D3 is the one for me, also good glowing reviews on all the hardware sites listed. Also, I've used shedloads of gigabyte mobos in the past, and still do, and never had a prob with any of them.
Thanks for the info mate, very useful

No problem:)

The only reason not to get the gigabyte is if you are needing to use the 2500K onboard graphics as im not sure the gigabyte z68 has video out ports.
