*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

Annoys me that people think it's just a "free" weekend to try the game, and moan and cry when it's buggy and laggy. So clueless.

As it's still a beta though, there will probably be a lot less demand on the servers this weekend than when the game actually releases. The fact EA have probably bought Tesco value servers isn't going to help.

Well frankly to me it IS just a free weekend to try the game. Won't be doing much moaning and crying like ;)

We've all been invited in the masses so we can stress the servers, it's a bonus if you can play the game.

Funny, it annoys me that people moan and cry about people that don't know it's a stress test weekend. So clueless. :p

Im struggling at the moment, I really want to play this game. Release cant come fast enough.

I think the weekend start times have been announced at the official SWTOR site. Theres going to be 3 waves, and they are going to email people later in the week telling them which wave they are in.

Start times for each wave are #1: 10am Friday CST (6pm our time I think), 10am Saturday, 10am Sunday.

Unfortunately that means people in wave #3 will have less than a day of testing time, but hey ho its just a stress test so we should all be thankful just to get a look at the game.

I think this is what your referring too -

Hello everyone! We are excited to have you joining us for Beta Testing Weekend! We can’t wait to get you all into the test. If you just received your invitation today, you can visit www.swtor.com/tester to download the launcher and begin patching the game.

To simulate a launch environment, testers who have accepted new invites to weekend testing will gain testing access in staggered intervals based on when their invites were accepted. The first group of testers will be able to log on beginning on Friday morning (11/25) at 10:00AM CST (16:00 London, 17:00 Paris/Berlin). Then, Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 AM CST (16:00 London, 17:00 Paris/Berlin) the second and final waves of testers will gain access. Please watch your email for details about when your phase of testing begins. This will come in a separate email from your invite.

To our existing testers: at 10:00AM CST on Friday 11/25, you will notice several new servers appear in server selection for the weekend test to accommodate all our weekend testers. You are welcome to create characters on these new servers, but please note that they will only be available for the duration of the weekend test, which ends on 11/27 at 11:59PM CST (11/28 5:59 London, 6:59 Paris/Berlin).

All testers share forums at this time, so please welcome our weekend testers, who will be active in these forums for the duration of the weekend test!

Some of these 'beta testers' do make me laugh. Your not the chosen one because you have been randomly selected to test a game. Get over yourselves, QA is the lowest of the low!

Given some companies don't seem to bother with QA nowadays I'm happy to be involved.

Do you have a beta key?

yeah another wave of invites went out today, got mine this morning. Luckily I had gone to the tester page yesterday and registered / downloaded client so hopefully i just sneaked in on the first wave. Anyway just keep reloading the page, it gets there eventually.

Whoop!

I dont understand what you trying to say? do you really think Bioware have not sat around a table and thought this whole thing out....

Haha, calm down. I was just implying that EA are cheapskates sometimes, and I assume they've funded the servers and server-related things for this, not Bioware themselves...

Got my beta invite this morning, although I think I may be needing a slight upgrade to play it?

4GB PC6400
ATi 3450 256MB card (Bought it new from ocuk for £27 after my 4890's kept dying)

Think a new graphics card (Any suggestions, don't wanna spend TOO much) should be ok? Maybe with an extra 4GB RAM?
