Wooop.

Called Ramada two days ago for a job advert they listed. Told to come for interview today.

Interviewed with two managers night and day time managers.

Seemingly smashed the interview, called back tommorow for a night time trial shift 10pm to 7am.

YASS!!!!!!!!! :P

For Ramada hotels, anyone here ever experianced them for employment or know anyone who has?

IM SO HAPPY!

I would certainly hope so ? but damnit im not single.

The pattern of hours seems pretty cool i get my day tim afternoons and most evenings and work the early morning late night hours.

I can get a good 6 or 7 hours sleep if i want and still have most of my day so it works out pretty cool.

Hopefully I ace the work trial im gonna really work hard i want this job.

If i walk outside my door and turn right im at work!!!!!!

I used to work for Ramada hotels when I was in 6th form. I worked in their central call centre taking reservations.

What job have you gone for? If you are night receptionist and can speak English the central reservation people will love you!

Not a bad company to work for really, I met some nice people when I worked there. Night shifts can be a bit dull but that's the same for any graveyard shift I think. Was easy and good money when I was 17

Night receptionist buddy :)! and yes i speak English born in this country!

I will be doing bar work as well as some light chefing too. So its a mixture of jobs within the role which will keep me from getting bored there hopefully.

The place is pretty nice and a of a very good standard.

I don't recall there being a hotel in Ipswich when I worked there but it was about 7 years ago so Im probably just not remembering.

The hardest thing for the night receptionist and duty managers was that they had to know a little bit of every function as the day shift there are more staff. Reservations specifically there are a few things to learn.

You seem to have quite a positive attitude about it so I'm sure you will be fine. Just remember customer service is paramount and a smile and politeness go a long way when dealing with people who are tired and irritable.

The one thing I remember from it is people could get very angry at you sometimes.

I know the feeling Nitefly,

Also I use to work in a community centre in East London so dealin with all sorts of people i was Front receptionist and centre keyholder so i got all the skills for the job lets just hope someone with years more experiance doesnt blow me out of the water on the night trial.

To be honest i love 30 seconds away got experiance and the night trial isnt building a space ship so aslong as i do good on that I should get the oppurtunity.

I HOPE SO.

Got 2 legs and an arm in the door need to squeeze through now :D.

Thanks guys!! <3

I have recently got myself a job with a hotel chain (one of the largest budget brands). I work one night a week, and 4 day shifts... except this week when I am doing a full week of nights. My trial consisted of a 2 hour on the job experience. Not even a full shift :D

At night times, it is dead. I find myself with quite a bit of time with not a lot to do. I set up breakfast tables, run end of day reports and do some pot washing (restaurant attached), along with corridor walks. Sometimes I am serving alcohol until around 2am.

If you want to know anything else, let me know :)

Jobs where you can sleep on the nightshifts are awesome.

My shift pattern is 2 days, 2 nights, 4 off.

So.. 2 days, 6 off :p

Somehow I dont think it will be that relaxed when im working there on the night shifts. Its 40 hours aweek.

I am on 38-40 hours a week.

It all depends on the location of the hotel and the size of the hotel I guess. I am not based in one in the city centre. And we are only small.

I did really good guys i did the whole shift i did everything that was expected of me and more i went and did things i was not prompted or told to do and my night manager was extremely happy with me.

So now i have to wait till saturday as the other person who got a work trial is doing his tonight.

He was teaching me things that would not of needed to really know if i hadnt of got the job thoough to be honest and i fit in really well there so i honestly think unless this guy who is trialing has a million x more experiance than me or some how miraculously does better.
