I really don't like the changes to the IGLA and Stinger at all. A pilot with Stealth and IR Flares is pretty much invincible. if you manage to sucker him into dropping his flares then locking on again you might get a hit if he's close enough otherwise his flares will be back by the time the missile is in the air. Then he just flies away and regenerates without any drama. Unless you have 3-4 people running the AA missiles you may as well have a pop gun! :(

Can't say I noticed much change in the mobile AA though?

I have to say though, Extinguisher on the helicopters is fabulous! A pilot with extinguisher and maintenance and come careful flying along with a decent gunner with some good unlocks can stay aloft for ages.

As for the new patch, I can sometimes spawn with my weapon facing straight up or straight down? Only happened since the patch bu doesn;t happen every time either. Other than that no real moments but I still get my first launch 'BF3.exe has stopped responding' then it launches fine and I stay on without any major drama.

Something that has been happening to me also regarding bf3.exe crashing... need to level up my Engineer to make use of those "perks" as Im a pretty good chopper pilot but crappy jet one! lol

It'll only scan if you control it, otherwise it just points in the same direction.

and the maps feel about 1/4 the size of the 1942/bf2 ones...

i think larger maps encourage more grouping everyone charging off to the action together , people waiting for rides in jeeps/helicopters etc rather than just running for 10 seconds and reaching a base solo
 
Bored and fed up with the game, uninstalling it when i get home, i have TOR to look forward to anyway, and i wouldn't play BF:3 when that comes out.
 
Updated fine with the patch fine yesterday. Had a good first couple of games on the computer :)

Definitely a lot harder than on the Xbox! Especially without my M249 with IRV and Silencer :(
 
Can you disable the console key?

The amount of time I've been killed when I've tried to hit 1 to bring out my main gun and pressed ' at the same time bringing up the console and stopping me in my tracks.

I looked in the options to see if I could unbind it but couldn't see anything.

Oh I second that!!! So annoying!!
 
lol games on smogsy last night. i thought id pull out a mortar on metro rush and left my squad because they were either useless or seemingly on purpose not dropping ammo for me.

so next thing after i get a couple of kills half my team has gone mortars and the game descends into mortar and counter mortars lol. one guy was still at it even after it went underground lol.

then we moved on to another map and i killed 2 baby birds with tanks then another 2 flown by ak22p with a hmg from a humvee ! sweet.
 
Crap effort last night. Had some good times with you guys on teh server but I was playing soo badly!

I think I run in too much as point and get mullered with you pr0s then taking them out. I'll bait more this evening :D

We were all ranging about your damn motars, we just couldn't get a moments sleep around A or B. :D

Javelin is still pretty useful as long as you aim it up in the air in the right direction before firing.

where are you when i needed you lol

go out in the tank and no one loads the soflam and i get battered by the opposition getting tagged all the time.

so i spend time as recon to get it , now everytime i go out there are 2/3 :mad:

I'm always having a problem with that, my keyboard can disable the windows key, but I never touch that one, just the console key, there must be a way of disabling it except for popping off the key cover or wedging a piece of paper under it
 
Even after the patch I am still getting 'Battleield3.exe has stopped responding' the first time I play multiplayer, but after the first attempt I have no problem, I did read somewhere to disable antivirus etc, but it doesnt make any difference
 
well i was gettin stick for irnv even with its nerf so i went for some a91gun with no upgrades and still outscored most for kills.

sometimes my teammates and squad mates **** me right off. either they go sniper half the map away or just run away randomly all the time. rgrgr .
