I really like no.14 - the pp suits the image well. Other cool ones are no.4, 22 (the signs on the right hand side are a little distracting) and 39 but the rest don't do much for me.

On another note, some of people in those pics look like they're about to beat you up :p (no. 3, 5, 27,40 for example). Do you ever get any comments from people since I assume these where shot with your 70-200 which isn't the most discreet piece of kit in the world :)

My first comment would be that you need to be far more selective with your final shots. I would only hope to get half a dozen (if not less) final shots from a day or twos shoot. Nowhere near 41 at any rate.

I only say that because half of these seem like nothing more than snapshots and they drag the well composed ones down with them.

na i dont get any comments by people. think i produce better pics using a wide angle lens

41 shots where taken over the course of 2-3 weeks. not in one day . well 80 actually and i cut it in half.

i get your point though and i could probably reduce it down to 20. the reason why it seems like a lot is because i have not uploaded pics at all this month due to a borked out cf reader and having my pc offline whilst installing a new water cooling loop on it.

In that case you need to be more ruthless with your choices generally. I'd get rid of every shot where the subject is looking at the lens (apart from eye-patch man) or has their eyes closed as they just don't work.

The composition of the graffiti, banner and a couple of building shots are also poor and look like they've just come from a quick point-and-shoot grab as you were walking past.

Cool thanks mate. i am still learning as i go along and will try and be more harsh on my picture taking.

which ones do you like out of the whole batch?

I've been meaning to go down to take some snaps at the Occupy protest. I've just got a back log off shots I'm busy processing, so might go next week.

My Brother went past it a week or so ago and said that the camp really stinks!

I like 10, 20 and 37. I don't 'agree' with the protests so it's hard to get past the fact that the content annoys me :p.

A lot of your shots, whilst they have a main focus, it's not substantial enough or the composition/surroundings draw away from it. For example the guy in 38 has character, but the other people in the shot make it anaesthetically pleasing for me.

I agree with Russ but this set is so much better than your older stuff of random people walking around.

One useful tip I learnt a little while back is to really look at your images you want to show and see where your eyes get drawn to. If it's something other than you intend, try to remedy it.

For example, a few that stood out for me...

On pic 11, maybe square off the image concentrating only on the lit pillars, and ignore what's on either side.

pic 22, too much empty black space on the r/h side, also don't let items in the image get too close to the edges (sign at the top).

pic 14, I like the shot, but my eyes get drawn to that big grey rectangle behind her.

I like 11, 14 and 15. The tree of them work well together as a set in my opinion although I'd probably have cropped 11 and 14 just slightly tighter.

I love the curious look on the girls face in #3 when she's spotted you :)

#22 is nice, mainly because I always like the atmosphere in places like that.
#23 looks like a space ship just landed :D

#38 EVIL WORZEL GUMMIDGE!

My mate rocked up there a couple weeks ago and photographed with a Hasselblad and a 35mm Rollei. Was pretty hipster. :p
