**The Official Nokia Lumia 800 Thread***

A little miffed I had to ask for the Lumia as the unit in store had a cardboard screen. While I'm an Apple fanboy it was annoying seeing how they'd never use a cut out for the iPhone.

Saying that the rep said it was selling really well so I'm guessing many aren't phased by it.

I know for a fact if my mum walked in and saw it wasn't a real working unit she wouldn't bother to ask about getting one. I imagine a lot of 'average' consumers are the same.

I've never really thought about that. I see what you mean though. Still, it isn't much of a problem unless you're an 'average consumer' :p

I buy and do all my upgrades directly through T mobile by calling 150 now though.

I like to be able to have them sort out any technical problems / repairs as well, they are very good and fast at doing so, and they send me a pre paid special delivery bag if I need to send anything back to them.

They cover everything for its full manufacturer warranty, so my current phone's backlight can be repaired any time up to september 2012. They can also send me a temporay replacement handset if I want it repaired now, but it works fine, I just cant read half the keypad in the dark, and only want it repaired before I sell it :)

Also if I have any problems with a new phone in the first 7 (maybe 14?) days, they send me a replacement within 24 hours for a swap at my door (did this on both my K850i that kept switching itself off, and X10 mini pro which had a scratch).

Forget going to the store anymore, doing everything through T mobile is so much better.

You're not high end, not even close. High end is >£75 and even then it's more >£100, You're average Joe at £30. They don't see you as £58pcm because you're not paying for it, you need to adjust your expectations, the systems give them upgrade options, not their personal love for you and your voice :P

Ok, so I think that you were wrong about this because I called 150 > 2 > 2 > 2 to get directly through to retentions, and asked about early upgrade possibilities, and they said yes it is possible, but I'd have to pay for the rest of my contract.

From what I read at the T mobile forums and other sources, everyone else that also got the 3 month early option had to pay for their termination. The 'high value customer' thing is something that a normal CS person told me, they most likely didnt have a clue about what I was asking.

I'm not going to do it though, as it would cost £153 (I'm not sure how £48.xx ex vat x 3 = £153 though), but I did still ask for information on how much the upgrade to Lumia 800 would also cost if I did that now, quoting that I had been offered for free when I upgrade in feb, but their prices on the Lumia 800 are currently being updated, and they will call me back after they have their new prices done.

For anyone on a normal T mobile tariff without a discount, they can pay off their last 3 months at ex vat price, and upgrade 3 months early, this isnt an option for just for high value customers, and it works out cheaper for most people as they dont have to pay vat for their last few months.

Can't wait for the blue version. At first I was set on the 'safe' option of black but it seems people are taking a liking to the blue even if it's a bit out there.

Haven't seen the cyan in the flesh though - the phone stores I've been in only have black.

TBH I'd like one in bright lime green. The only thing you can get in that colour is iPods :(

Me <3 lovely yummy shiny bright lime green.

But then Id probably end up trying to eat it, or at least give it licketty slurps :x

I have a lime-ish green N8 -

The one on the right? Its too yellow :(

When I see the right shade of lime green, my mouth will want to drool, just like it does when I eat yummy limes.

BAH, now my mouth be salivating at the thought of eating a lime, but theres none left.

.... I learned how to make lemon pizzas a few months ago too, well, if adding the innards of lemons to my pizza counts as lemon pizza.

Best. food. ever!

...... TROPICANA ORANGE AND LIME!!! .... Ive already drank half a litre of it today and its not enough, I NEED MORE!

Ive sent Expansys a mail asking about when they think they should be arriving in etc...they are still asking for £489 for the sim free, which smarts a little.

T-Minus 5 days to go............ :D

I couldnt wait and went for black...in the end they gave me 900mins(went up from 600) 500txt unli internet, and 60mins to mobiles and landlines in EU :)
all for £28 a month.

Couldnt decide between NExus and Lumia but for nexus I would need to let go EU phonecalls for free and would need to pay for mobile around £100 and line rental would be £30. maybe not much difference.

Phone should be with me on Saturday

Anyone know if T mob are going to be getting the blue one? Being so frustrated with spending all day to try and upgrade my tariff (T mobile didnt want more money? Fo shame!), I completely forgot to ask.

Blooming heck Nokia!

If I call them anymore they will probably block me from 150, or divert all my phonecalls to the Phillipines call centre lol.
