***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

Ok, so 95% of Great Britain has 3G coverage. Who cares about N. Ireland?

Well, seeing as Northern Ireland is part of the UK I would assume you have a bit more sense, but here you are showing some ignorance. Maybe you are American, because your lack of geographical knowledge is scary! :)

It's a nice deal.
I went for o2 at £179 + 24*21.50 for o2 200 Bonus + 500MB, worked out quite well, too lazy to do the math atm! I called 'em up just now to offer me a deal on 12m but the best I got was £254 for the phone and £37 a month for the same tariff as above...no thanks. At least on the 24m tariff I could just remove the data bundle instantly, wait 9 months, drop the tariff to £10.50 and pay it off!

I would try again mate. Like I said I got my retentions contract for the following on o2:

12 months contract
£172 for the phone
£36 per month
1gb internet
400 minutes
unlimited texts.

For a few quid extra you get to half the length of your contract meaning you can sell the nexus and it will still have retained a lot of resale value in only 11-12 months.

I killed my battery last night playing great little war game. When gaming the iPhone battery seems better, but overall I think the nexus wins. And damn does it charge fast.

Massive tmobile fail

I went to get the GN and what is waiting for me? A nexus S. And I bet what has happened is that tmobile rang the shop, tmobile asked about the galaxy nexus and the shop thought that was nexus s

I've cancelled my contract as tmobile won't be stocking it

Probably going to be new year when I get a new phone now, the price will be too high on a new vontract

That few extra quid is 120, and he can still end his contract after 12 months :).

Mine came today this is how Android should look, loving ICS makes every other android look pretty terrible and the screen bye bye blury things.

Much nicer looking phone than the GS2 a definite upgrade over it, so far so good and cant get how fast the camera takes snaps, super fast.

Question for you guys more experienced with Android. How do I copy an image of a website and paste it somewhere, like a text message? I long hold and I get the option to view and save it. On my iPhone I long hold, click copy, and go anywhere in the phone and can paste it. Do I have to save every image, then insert it that way? Its a little slow.......

I just use the free version which gives +4 setting, plenty loud enough for me. But I believe the paid version allows even more volume.

You can also get the "paid" version for free (legally) by visiting the author's site, should you not have 99p and want a bit more oomph. ;)

Whilst I agree that the information on XDA points towards a hardware issue, it is by no means 100% confirmed. Also there is software running in the bootloader so that doesn't prove much.

Those are rather strong and confident words to be used on just an assumption.

And then they also say this:

Sorry we do not know the ‘technicalities’ of what actually causes it and how it is hardware or software related. What we do know is that it is software related and the fix is on its way. We trust that the information we have is correct and this is further backed by content from other sites who suggest this.

They are just saying that to get their orders out and hoping the software update will fix the issue, which it most likely will.

I do agree with you about it maybe being software related still, but it makes me wonder why Google or Samsung haven't confirmed either way. That's what makes me think it's hardware related. No need to worry though because lots of other hardware usually has software to control it before being used directly.

Also, since Samsung/Google/whoever else are confident about the update fixing it, I wouldn't worry too much!

Is the text sharp enough to cut yourself on? :p

Thanks chief, using +6 now! :p

Aye, I'm on Orange so I'm not overly bothered by it. I only managed to provoke the volume bug after many attempts with a GS2 on vodafone using 2G loading youtube videos.

Just seen this about the fix on my google+ stream (the guy re-sharing it is an android dev so should know), sounds reasonable to me:

Yup, basically confirms it's a hardware issue but the software makes it a non issue.

As the cpu won't have to handle this extra noise from the RF interference, therefore no battery drain.

As they say they encounter this stuff daily, just was a fix they hadn't implemented before shipping.

When I go to the developers website this is what I see:

http://coffeebreaksoft.com/vcplus/userguide.html

No link to download it though?

Wrong site there fella.

Need to register and then click on download, takes you to 1.8 latest release.
