The Best Photo I've Ever Taken .....

Last weekend a few of us walked The Pilgrims Way up at Holy Island. I took this photo on the way back to the mainland with about 1/2 an hour of sunlight remaining. Apart from straightening the picture the photo is completely unedited. It's one of the best photos i've ever taken

nice shot, but i'd be tempted to just crop out the bottom 10% to lose the lens flare

No processing whatsoever. Could it be that the photo here is 1/3 smaller than the original one?

Also i like the lens flare!

I didn't even notice, yet I'm not the kind of tog that worries too much about things like that. imo as long as it isn't covering someone's face who cares...

I'm in two minds about the flare too. Although I think in this case, given there's not a huge amount of detail at the bottom, I'd probably crop it and you wouldn't lose anything from the picture.

Cracking shot straight out the camera though!

You might not even have noticed this but you've caught them both mid step which really gives it the edge in my opinion. I think a tiny bit of processing would make a huge difference - im almost itching to vignette the corners a little and I think a bit more contrast would really bring out the sky areas.
