I have a complete noobish question.
I have only played on PvE servers when playing mmo's.
Am i missing anything when not playing on a PvP or RP server? what are the advantages and disavantages?
What is the difference between PvP and RP?
When dying on a PvP server do you lose items?

On PvP servers in certain areas you're automatically flagged for PvP combat, so you can attack, or can be attacked by enemy players. You don't lose anything by dying this way, it can just be inconvenient. If you enjoy PvP they can be quite fun when you find a opposite faction player and can have a bit of 1 on 1 PvP in the open game environment.
Never played on a RP server but I imagine it's no different than the PvE/PvP counterparts except everyone takes the RPG part of MMORPG a bit too seriously

The server type poll for Black Sun Pirates(located here) is turning out very interestingly, it was an 8-3 majority for RP-PvP however that has switched to an 11-10 in favour of normal PvP server. Please could all Black Sun Pirates(OcUK Sith Empire PvP guild) members vote on this, it will be very important for the future of the guild.
Voted PvP, while I would have liked PvE, out of the choices normal PvP wins

Sounds like the 11/11 weekend problems were mostly caused by everyone flocking to the popular servers and getting stuck in huge queues. I think i'll just go to whichever is emptiest

Done m8 I dont think it will be a problem as they are our sister guild and you want to be in pve.
Glaucus thats the idea of being in the guild before launch you automaticly get on the same server.
Simulating launch you'd expect a pre-released list of servers.
I guess it's going to be one rush of trying to get on the lowest populated server, expect many people to bail and join another like they did with rift.
Although, if guild leaders/other people(?) do get on first, post here, we should follow.
Edit:: Unless guild deployment works this weekend too, I didn't think it did.

Getting into the beta tomorrow, however working tomorrow 5-9 after uni so won't get on til late, never played an MMO before so I dunno how I am going to like it, only reason I wanted it was for the story but now i've read the new Revan book I've got all the closure I wanted from the original Kotor series.
MMOs sucks if you don't get in a group of some sort. They aren't single players.
