I've not been able to find much information about this processor.
It's £30 less than an i3 2100.
I need to trim every penny I can for this budget build.
One of the articles I have found online says that for gaming, there isn't a great deal of difference between to G840 and the i3 2100. Can anyone confirm this?
Would the G840, paired with a 6670 video card, be able to give decent results for World Of Warcraft. Resoultion will probably be 1366x768. But a 1920x1080 monitor may be on the cards. Also, my old Viewsonic VP930 could be used for this build - 1280x1024.
I could go for an i3 2100 with a 6770. That would add £60 or so to the build but then I'd need to add a PSU too. So this option could cost and extra £90 or so in total. I have a PSU lying around that will be fine for a 6670, so I wouldn't have to buy one.
But if the G840, 6670 combo won't cut the mustard then there's no point.
Any advice on what would give decent WoW performance at the lowest price? The PC won't be used for any other games.
Thanks.
