*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

America has woken up and here come the queues!

So far I have a level 12 Sith Inquisitor (sorceror) which I enjoy, although the starting area seems poor.

My question is: I have a level 7 IA that I started. Having to press 'f' to cover to use Snipe etc is kind of annoying - does this contunie throughout IA's levelling/playing?

I can see IA being least played come release.

Having never played an MMO before...What are 'bound' items and is there a reason not to equip them?
That they can only be used by you and your companions, you can sell them to a NPC, but no one else can buy/use them.

This game just reminds me of dc universe minus the flying

lol you joking right they nothing what so ever alike!

It's awful so far......... one of the most irritating queue's I've been in with this stupid repeating sound. When is the test over again, Monday night? looking like I might get 3-4 minutes in before then.

Cannot find a single server w/o a que over 1000. This is absolutely ridiculous, if you're going to give people beta access, at least make sure they can play..

Its very worrying how badly they have handled the amount of players joining, even when the queue has being in the 500/600 levels I went around the starter planets looking at the how many players there were.

On both (hutta&Korriban) there was about 150 players per instance with 6 instances on both, thats not a lot.

I mean fair enough, they might want to test the queuing system, its the thing that a huge number of MMO's spend time using and breaking on an MMO release. If its that, fine, but let us know, if its not then yes, they've got servers vs numbers invited completely wrong.

Again though, a test with not enough people is going to end up bad, and I'm sure LOADS of people get invites and don't use them, but they had to know a Star Wars game will have a very high rate of participation?

Im really enjoying this so far, playing as a Smuggler Human

I cant wait to play this is full over the Xmas

Gameplay is fantastic and the story is very good,im having a few FPS drops/Lag,but thats to be expected.

Can AA be enabled? as its grey out on the options,im assuming this will be implemented when the game is released?

They did let us know:

As part of this test, we will be partnering with games industry sites to distribute additional beta codes as necessary. This will help ensure we meet our population goals, so we can effectively stress test our servers in preparation for launch

There is a difference between stressing the servers with max or close to max, and specifically inviting many more people than they needed to stress the login servers.

HOpefully they'll see how busy the beta is and have more servers ready on launch, however it seems no matter how many times MMO's launch and how obvious it is how many servers they need, they don't do enough.

I mean we're talking about seemingly(not left the queue to see in a while) over 1000 people queuing per server, with a LOT of servers(well except the German ones which apparently no one is on...... should we all learn german?

That's a pretty big amount to underestimate the servers/numbers of codes handed out.

Been looking forward to this for ages, but now having spent some time playing it thinking of cancelling my pre-order. Spending far too much time running around, the quests just don't seem to flow properly for me

btw for anyone having bad fps, just make sure your in fullscreen mode. I was getting ~30fps then changed to fullscreen then i was getting 110fps.. No idea why it isnt set to that by default
