***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

loving the phone so far one thing i do find a little annoying which isnt a big deal though... is if you have face unlock... soon as you plug your charger in it automatically brings up the camera for face unlock :s

phoned up three today, too much, all they could do is 34£/mth on 24mths with £30 discount

far far too much, upgrading is definitely better than starting fresh!

Well last pass, and xmarks on dolphin browser are a no go.

Bit of a pain as i really cba to add all of my bookmarks in manually, i might throw a few in there, ocuk being one of them.

Wonder if the volume fix update will fix a few of the other bugs, like the quiet speaker, random restarts, etc; ?

Quiet speaker is likely of their choosing - has it been defined as a bug?

As for random reboots, I've only had one. Is it a common problem?

Oh can it, thanks any idea how im assuming it's in the browser settings?

Just attach Google Chrome to your Google account, and use that same account on the phone. Bookmarks automatically sync.

I've skimmed through the thread and can't find the answer.

I picked up the Galaxy Nexus last week and I ADORE it. However is there a way to stop it automatically converting any SMS longer than 3 messages into an MMS?

On my Nexus One, I'm sure there was an option to disable or enable this feature, however I cannot seem to find it in ICS.

OK, if you launch an app, then hit the power button, does anyone else get the 3 menu dots at the bottom right, it seems that allows unlock as well?

All reports ive seen is that it affects some handsets and not others.
All are fixable with a 3rd party app, telling that the fault is likely a software one.

Seen a few reports...

FYI everyone, ive mentioned before, now some proof (from an Orange chat session).

Welcome to Orange online chat. One of our advisors will be with you as soon as possible.
You're now chatting to Helen.

Helen: Hello, my name is Helen. I'm part of the Orange online sales team. How can I help you with your order?

boomam: hi. i wondered if you would be able to help me. I was told by an orange representative over the phone about 3-4 days ago that from December 1st onwards i would be able to get a Galaxy Nexus through Orange. Can you confirm wether that phone would be available please?

Helen: Certainly, as of now, we do not have the fixed dates, however it is expected around that time.

boomam: so its definatelly being stocked by Orange at some point?

Helen: Yes.

boomam: how come it isnt listed in the 'coming soon' section of the shop though?

Helen: Well, there is an error, however it is expected by december first week, you can check on the site by december 1st

boomam: ok. thank you for your time, have a nice day.

Is it confirmed anywhere that rooting wont stop OTAs, and that OTAs wont remove root?

Well i'll be, i only got the nexus as my san fran packed up.

Thing has only decided to start working again lol.

Ah well it'll be nice to have it as backup.

I'm probably being really stupid but when I look in the settings and see the running apps it says 406mb used and 225mb of memory, even with my terrible maths I can tell that doesn't add up to 1gb?

Battery life on this phone is ok but if you use it a lot then it's not the best. My SGS2 battery last much better than this in actual use.

Got fingers crossed that they improve battery with updates like they did with the SGS2 and that would make this phone almost perfect. That and getting word prediction to work in browser :D

A portion of the RAM is permanatly reserved by the system, it's the same on my SGS2 and the SGS i had before.

Anyone else have a pink tint issue at low brightness. Especially where you have greys.

Try the dialer and drag down the notification bar or lower brightness.
