Best Buy closing down sale starts tonight @ Midnight

Yeh I was kind of hoping 30% off would give some good value for money. However, with their 10% discount nothing stands out.

That IXUS better than equivalent Lumix and Coolpix?

I'm not sure, a Lumix TZ could have the edge in terms of image quality, but the Ixus would be easier to use. Depends what you're using it for really.

Meh, I'm not too fussed. I just need a good camera which can focus quickly and has good image quality.

Will go for the Ixus 220, seems to have very good reviews. Cheers :)

My Book Live 2TB NAS for £97, seems to be £150 elsewhere. If I didn't already have a 1TB MyBook World I'd grab that in a heartbeat.

Found they had the 3405 on there at a tad over £200 with delivery - tried to order (active/passive sub doesnt bother me), but failed on two mastercards and a visa debit, everytime at the verification page.

£208 will get you the Samsung NX100 which is better than any compact out there right now, although not so small.

I can get the Ixus 220 HS for £135 from Currys with a further £20 cashback from Canon.

So that would be quite a large price difference for me. Also I don't really need the ability to change lenses.

edit:

I'll go through flickr and see the image quality difference. It'll probably be unnecessary for me.

edit2:

Yes very good picture quality but no built in flash and pricey for me.

Fair enough, just thought I'd let you know :)

The 220 is a great little camera anyway.

I'd still feel bad paying that much, I got a 2TB MyBook Elite for £65 a while back.

Was tempted by the HDDs but unsure if they are real value for money considering how high pricing has gone - was after a NAS too...

Tempted by a few things but.....I don't need them and the Jan sales might be better plus gives products time to depreciate a little more. 2TB HDDs for £82 I still can't justify either given what they were. No profit to be had selling on after the price cut you have to sell at to get a sale + fees = no profit. So not that exciting I guess.

The network ones are always a fair bit more expensive though. These things were £150-odd even before the HDD price increases.

I hate you - gonna pick one up :p. Should work with my PS3 as its DLNA :D

EDIT: Might have to replace my WRT54GS though too...

Best was the 50% off blurays...managed to get loads of titles. I noticed they took off some of the more decent items off the website over the weekend, e.g. Sonos.

As I said in the previous Best Buy thread, I doubt it's going to look like a real closeing down sale because chances are they've agreed to shift a lot of their stock to competitors.

They are fully pulling out of the UK market and likely want to minimise that loss.

I nearly bought a Panasonic DMC G3 at 1am this morning and a Panasonic 20mm pancake lens to go with it. The prices on those items were the cheapest around BEFORE the discounts of 20%. Checked this morning and yep...both out of stock. Understandable. I feel like a mug not ordering but....sometimes you just have to have a word with your spending. All these sales are tempting but....the Jan sales are where it's at really plus making big purchases before xmas when I have so much xmas shopping to do is just wrong!

I'm right aren't I? Someone tell me I'm right thinking of the children? Argggh
