Guys I've been working with Virgin for 1 year and every week I lose the connexion like 5 times, besides there is a politic in their contract that they SAY...

-during peak times, we moderate the speeds of the very small proportion of customers who are downloading and/or uploading an unusually high amount. Where we improve upload speeds, we'll also be adjusting our traffic management in the upgraded areas so everyone can get a fair share. -

SO that entails that right now because, they have limited my connexion ALWAYS in the evening, I GOT 1MB and 400 PING...

ALWAYS in the evenings.. ALWAYS and this is enough, in two hours I'll have again my 25 Mb of connexion and 20 of PING. I SWEAR DOWN.

Ok if you complain in their forums they will tell you that PEOPLE THAT IS DOWNLOADING A HUGH QUANTITY OF TRAFFIC.., have this problem just because is a RULE OF THEIR COMPANY...

But this is not true because I'm not downloading all the time, just sometimes and for example this week I didn't download anything I was at home just in the evenings and THE SAME PROBLEM...

I don't use Emule P2P or that, I just Megaupload AND JUST EVERY NOW AND AGAIN, they say also that if you use this programs you'll be limited straight away

therefore right now I'm ****ed...

So guys any other good company please coz Virgin LIES and the people don't know that...

Sorry for my English I'm so angry ,...

You probably aren't being limited by Virgins traffic management policy - The issue you have is quite common in areas which are oversubscribed (usually student areas). Nothing you can do until VM upgrades their local equipment which could be months.

I feel your pain bro! I too have problems. Leeds area is full of stupic student houses each with 50MB broadband and the VM infrastructure cannot cope

Go to Be. Search "bethere ISP"

BESIDES....

No internet at least 5 hours daily...

And I'm paying a lot of money...

Saturday no internet the hole day, yesterday like 5 hours today from 12:00 until now it's 17:00 and still waiting...

And this is always the same,

SKY I'm coming... My neighbor told me that for him it's working always and 20 MB but, but we would have to see that...

Would you say that, if I get other company I would have the possibility of get the same problem?

there's a fair chance you'll be fine, this seems to be a major issue with virgin at the moment.

check out your exchange on samknows to see what options ou have available, don't go with anything that isn't LLU if you have the option.

BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
BT Wholesale WBC (21CN)
BT Wholesale SDSL
AOL LLU
O2 / Be LLU
Bulldog LLU
TalkTalk (CPW) LLU
Sky Broadband / Easynet LLU
Pipex LLU
Tiscali LLU
Tiscali TV (via Tiscali LLU)
Virgin Media (Cable)

SO Sky is LLU it's ok isn't' it?

yup of those i'd go with either SKY LLU or o2/Be LLU, just check prices/allowances etc and pick which suits you best.

Guys, SKY the worst election never I did.

After 3 month waiting for them to activate the broadband AFTER 3 MONTH... Nothing.

When the engineer had to come, he didn't and I'm so fed up.

3 month to activate a broadband. this is a shame guys...

DO you know of another one, with no limit of connexion etc... please.

Three months? It's only about seven weeks since you started this thread (still a long time if you ordered it back then).

Why did you need an engineer visit? If it was because you haven't got an active (non-Virgin) phone line then you're basically stuffed until someone comes to sort it.

I didn't have socket at home, and sky is playing with me, as you can't believe it, there are like 20 pages of post people complaining, because they don't have internet no activation date of broadband, the router it doesn't arrive and so on...

Therefore If to cancel the contract and go for another company.

DO you know of other company with unlimited internet "nice ping" people professional, no like this poor company calls SKY.

I need it fast I can't wait mate.

THANKS...

Tuexnovia, is it a residential or business tariff you have wth VM?
If it's residential then you can't really moan about it. If it's business, then you should expect better service. However VM have just rolled out the new 50mbit connections with static IP blocks at approx. £40pcm. Contention should be lower than residential and you shouldn't be traffic managed.
It's worth looking into matey.
My 10mbit cable modem at work is being upgraded to 50mb on thursday.

I wish they could do this but they can't...

I got just 20 Mb I've ask few times but nothing, and besides they limit my connexion all the evenings...

-You're in a Virgin Media National broadband area- This is what they say.

I know I know. And now with Sky I got so many problems...

Oh...so you don't have cable modem. It's an adsl product. Yeah VM sucks for adsl.
Shame, can't think of anything esle for you mate, sorry.

BE LLU is excellent. shame the price has gone up recently though. i used to pay 18 quid odd for 20MB and as i lived near the exchange, i got it pretty much 24/7. but it's now 22 quid for new customers. :(
