Hi there.

I was just wondering, does the "Transcend 16GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card" look any good for photos/1080p video on a canon 60D to you guys? I read somewhere you need a class 6 or higher card for 1080p video on the 60D so technically this card should be fine shouldn't it?

I'm not sure if I am allowed to link to the site so if you google "Transcend 16GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card" it is the top link ;)

Thanks

I have used Transcend 16GB SDHC Class 10 Memory Card for video recording.
Go with class 10.
They are not my main card but i have used them, so far error free.

Just recieved my class 10 16Gb Transcend card from the rainforest people, bought it in their Black Friday sale at the start of the week. Have always used Sandisk cards but my dad has always used Transcend in his DSLR's and HD camcorders, he has never had a problem. Will be trying my card out when Im shooting in London this weekend.

I am just a little worried by the slow write speeds (~3.2mb/s if I remember correctly).

Would I be right in thinking a faster card would clear the buffer while shooting stills faster than a slower one?

Not sure to be honest mate, i rarely shoot more than 3 pictures/frames a second so not been a problem for me/

I had 3 of them and all went on my 60d wont recommend them at all.

Some people have these and had no issues I seem to be unlucky. Two of them went in the same day within an hour.

It was suggested that I format them on the camera etc which I didnt do on the first card to be honest. On the others I did and still had issues. I sent the first one back and gave up after that.

All my other cards like class 6 4gb cards have been fine and they are old and been used in a number of different cameras.

After reading this I am very happy I didn't buy them in the end :)

I've never had any problems with my Transcend cards. Sounds like an unlucky run possibly 60D and the Transcends not getting along?? (I used mine in my Rebel xsi)

I did wonder this myself. But the gent here does have a 60d so thought I better say something. I'm switching the sandisk pro series 4/8gb cards. The problem I have is its to easy to have a big card and take lots of photos to have it corrupted on you.

My logic is now that I will have to change my cards more but hopefully wont lose 100s of photos in the process if something happens again.
