Looks like O2 might not have lied to Ivan.

clicky

Just called o2 and asked again if my order will be sent out tomorrow. Initially was told once again it was out of stock, but once i clarified it was a sim free phone bought outright and a new order the guy changed his tune. He said he would talk to the warehouse to get confirmation and then call me back.

after yesterdays fiasco with o2, I gave it a final go from work.
and it work :) phone should be delivered tomorrow by 10AM (paid extra)

I have one concern...guy on the phone said they wont have any stock untill thursday...will wait and see...I do hope they have as there will be no one to sign for the mobile on the other days of the week...
so my plan is :
sim only plan with Three - 500min, unli txt and 1GB net for £15
£249.99 for mobile and 1x £13.50 + 23x £10.50 from O2. comes to £504.99
£10,5 is like nothing so Im not worried about it.
Looking on it as a 1year deal :
£249.99+£180+£129 = £558.99
and will be able to change price plan/operator after one year

and Three network because of really nice internet speeds and Skype :)

My Nappa/Suede leather pouch has arrived:

Got mine in the post today as well. I really like it, but wish that it had a little more padding. I don't know how much it will protect the phone from taking a knock.

Good to hear someone else has been told the same thing. Fingers crossed for Wednesday then :)

Having just called to activate a normal SIM I got sent to replace a micro-SIM, I asked about delivery and was told it was out of stock, with stock due in tomorrow for delivery on the 1st Dec.

Don't know what to believe, though the person on the phone is likely to have better info than a chat rep I'd guess.

I think the answer you get from o2 is totally dependant on the indiviual you speak to. I don't think any of them have a scooby doo! Pretty hopeless really. All i can do is keep harassing them and hope it turns up sometime between now and christmas! Shocking.

Heads up on a tip for the browser.

I'm sure you all are using LABS by now which is brilliant.

Recently just found that you can bring up Bookmarks/History/Saved Pages by long pressing the back button.

I just spotted 'inverted screen rendering' setting in the accessibility menu of the browser. Might be something worth playing with to see if it improves battery life while browsing.

About the fix:

From Clove:

We are aware that the new stock has had an update applied to it to fix the volume bug that was present in some handsets from the previous batch of stock that we received. We would therefore expect the update to be available very soon for the earlier released handsets.

From Handtec:

Update b) Delivery enroute! also the volume bug is confirmed as fixed in new handsets. Samsung UK distribution is also stating that previous buyers will get OTA – this seems imminent as our new batch seems to have the fixes applied

Shame we don't have details of the fix (build/version numbers)

I’ve had mine since launch day. The screen is just gorgeous, it’s a great design, the phone is a good size and weight, battery life is excellent. There is no manufacturer bloatware as it is a pure Google experience. Compared with my previous phone (Nexus S) the camera/video is good and perfectly adequate for me. It is only 5MP but a higher megapixel count does not always bring better quality.

There is no external SD card slot so you are limited to about 13GB of internal storage, again not an issue but will be for some. ICS is a breath of fresh air and of course you will get updates before anyone else when they arrive. There is the GSM volume bug (fix on the way) but I’ve not experienced it.

Apart from a few minor OS niggles I don’t have anything to complain about in fact I’ve still got a big smile on my face which is here to stay for a long time to come.

I think it's the best Android phone out at the moment there are others who can comment on its choice rather than an iPhone.

So from me, very highly recommended.

Thanks for the quick overview. So no SD card at all?

Seems like I will be getting one of these then, hopefully blag an early upgrade (I don't want to wait until January). :D

Still no sign of a call back from o2 regarding my delivery tomorrow, surprise surprise. I reckon i've got more chance of winning the lottery tomorrow than recieving my nexus :( and i don't even buy a ticket!

Very nice find.

I use the Quick (slide thumb) controls and I've found out that when you slide your thumb to view open pages, you can actually scroll through all the opened ones on that page!

Also, not related but when you're using the deskclock, if you long press on the desktop, it will switch it to night mode automatically (I use this all the time and hated waiting for it to snap in, so this is a little bonus for me!)

I have two orders, too.
24th Nov Upgrade £21.50*24m and £179
25th Nov Upgrade £32.00*12m and £172
Neither show dispatched yet! :(

I was going to cancel the former, but I'll likely chuck it on the bay to get some quick cash, minus £179.

Sounds weird, as the networks generally prefer contract to offline, but I've known it to happen with Vodafone, making me wait for stock so I could upgrade after all new customers got theirs first.
*sighs loudly*

That damn volume bug caused havoc for me yesterday. No volume all the time, so I missed important calls. I would turn it up, 5 minutes later I would check and there was no sounds. It automatically turned off vibrate as well. I was also really struggling to get online (2G sucks) but normally had no problem in that area with past phones.

All that being said, I am glad I made the change from iPhone 4 to this, I an not sure if I can ever go back! :) Love my Nexus! If it gets fixed it will be perfect.
