if you're looking at ~£70(ex vat) then how about http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HS-001-PT&groupid=701&catid=57&subcat=1395 you can sit the front fan ontop of the ram(as long as there's no height issues with the chosen case), the fins on the vengence maybe too high(I know it can be done fine on the g skill ripjawx). the noctua d14 also allows the front fan to be rested on the ram, its a bit cheaper than the phantecks but the blue phantecks go with the ram and mb color scheme.

The second is £34.15 - which seems like a sweet deal though I don't mind going for the pricier corsair if the extra money will lead to lower temp and a better chance of a high clock.
 
Get the Kuhler920, excellent cooler.

Its better and cheaper than the H80 for example, check out one of my threads where I gave it a quick review:)

The 920 has a thicker rad, two fans, chillcontrol software, I encloded a little video also showing the logo illumination and fan noise at different settings.

Thanks for all the advice, will order the cooler in a week or two once I see if I can get the Venom back in time.

Really looking forward to the build now just hope all my components arrive with no faults.
 
PC got shipped today.

Overclockers swapped the PSU as I requested so it could finally be delivered even though I was told it was told it got shipped on Monday via email. I got the case color swap but even though I requested the cooler change and they said they would do it, I still got stuck with the venom cooler that doesn't fit with my system.

Now I will need to fork out additional cash for a new cooler (not the happiest panda)

But at least the PC is on its way :D
 
UPDATE!

Components have arrived in Gibraltar, I arrive there on the 19th December can't wait to start the build

Also had a Antec 920 Kuhler + some fans ordered which should arrive here Friday.

Got an interested buyer for the original Venom cooler.

Excited about the build, pics up as soon as I get home :)
 
UPDATE!

New bits arrived, Very prompt delivery to my UK Address, came at 8:15am and I had swapped a day off work just to receive the package heh.

Will be home in 10 days so will probably make a new thread with a build log
 
Just an update, the beast is still running well and cool!

Got it to 5.0GHZ at safe temps (lucky in the CPU lottery!)

And managed to bump up the clock passed 900 on the 580.

Can post bench marks on requested Games/software if need be.

So happy with my purchase :)

It's not often people post to say that everything still works. And to be honest it's nice to hear.
You look round the forum and it's all doom and gloom and loads of problems. Make people second guess building there own. So a success story every now and again is nice.
