Men's Cologne/Body Spray

Hollister stuff during the day as it's light and relatively sweet smelling. Maybe Diesel(fuel for life). Going out, anything from Bvlgari, Dior, Dolce and Gabbana etc.

Everyone here will say Issey Miyake no doubt but I've had it before, didn't think much of it and asked my GF to smell it in a department store recently and she thought it stunk. :p

edit: Have I slightly misunderstood what you're asking?

Just make sure that if it's decent cologne then wear just enough that it can only be smelt in a lover's embrace. If it's body spray then wear just enough so that nobody can smell it, because all body spray is rubbish.

I don't think so. I'm just after something that'll make me smell nice.

Ah right. Not really sure about body sprays nor have I ever tried any. The only ones I've noticed in a shop have been by FCUK or Ted Baker. I'd imagine they just wear off, though? Might be better investing in a longer lasting scented shower gel instead!

Armani Diamonds - Black Carat is my weapon of choice at the moment. Amazing scent!
Other than that its Davidof Cool Waters, Diesel fuel for life and Hugo Boss used to do a special edition on with a blue line around the ball as opposed to an orange one.

Body spray, linx 2012 and Excite actually smell like a good cologne, also had a Ted Baker one that again had a nice smell.
Just try not douse yourself in both as they never mix well.

Non scented anti perspirant and a decent cologne always.
Scented bodyspray is very high school

Kenzo pour home is a nice light smell I've recently discovered
Usually Nivea for the pits

Jean paul Gaultier 'le male' is still the best and freshest smell i've ever worn, and is always present in my collection. You get a whiff of it every now and again when walking along and it makes you smile.

Hang on, why are body spray and cologne being mentioned in the same request? In fact, why are 'wear to work' and 'or on a night out' being mentioned in the same request?

OP, ignore the higher end, non-Department Store stuff and get yourself down to a Debenhams or John Lewis or whatever. Find the prettiest assistant you can and tell her what it is you want : "I'd like a day time fragrance for the office and something maybe a bit heavier for going out. What do you think?" She'll give you a load of testers to take home (good) or spray on to some card (also good but you can't put them on ebay) and then just go from there.

Smell is very, very subjective. There are some scents listed in this thread which I actually hate; not just dislike but actually hate with a vengeance. To me, they are sickly sweet and last for less than 3 hours but to the guy who liked them they're great.

See what you like. Go to Debenhams and speak to some hardbody
