LOLVista, you need every Kb of that :p

Amen, the computer I'm using at the minute is sooooooooo slow. Computers in here are 1/5th Vista and terrible and 4/5th Windows 7, and are awesome. Why did I pick a hideously slow one? :( It's a stupid RM one, with an equally stupid RM keyboard.

I don't get what the fuss is about. A college or UNI should have the fastest possible connection so it's of little surprise?

Wow, it's college all over again, USB version of Quake running on all the machines in the IT rooms lol, wonder if you can put MW3 and BF3 on USB's lol

Tested again today on speedtest and got:

That isn't all that impressive really, you're only using a 3rd of your LAN's capacity. The Net North West consortium supply JANET at far higher speeds than that to the Manchester universities. Come back when you can saturate a gigabit connection ;)

At Sussex, the whole Informatics/Engineering department is on 1366-based quad core Xeons (with HT) plus Quadro GPUs, and the main labs have Dell U2412Ms. Haven't been to the library to use the PCs there (all 20 ish of them), but the PCs in the Psychology department look pretty basic (C2D I'd imagine).

****! Need to start using them. The psychology ones are ****ing dire. Drive me crazy. The library is nearly worse. Ever since they upgraded to win 7 it's been pretty slow.
