What the hell has happened to the BBC site?

Thing is, I still want local news, and for that I need a UK news website. Al Jazeera doesn't care about minor crime in the south of Scotland.

I remember this same thread several years ago when they changed it back then.
You will get used to it.
Somebody posted a link to the old Overclockers site and it does look dated but the amount of people who disliked it at the time.

I loved the last change I thought it was a well overdue revamp that addded great features and the ability to customise the page to each users prefference and it worked perfectly on the davice (ie normal PC/laptop) that was most commonly used to access it.

What I don't like about the new one is that they have designed a great tablet specific page and then made it the home page for everyone ignoring the fact the design is rubish if you are a normal desktop/laptop user.

If there were one thing you would add to bring back some of the old home page, what would it be?

Proper customisation it is a nightmare/impossible to get it to show what you want and loose the ridiculous side ways scrolly thing is laughable on a desktop OS.

Al-Jazeraa and Press TV is the way forward these days. I refuse to watch BBC/Sky news now as it's full of ****. And always will be.

I can understand Al Jazeera but Press TV? Seriously?

Anyway, I don't hate the new BBC homepage but they really need to make it possible to control exactly what is showing on the horizontal scrolling thing rather than just having the pretty ridiculous filters. If they were to sort that out then scrolling sideways would not be a problem because firstly you are not scrolling in the traditional sense and secondly because you would rarely need to scroll up or down.

I don't understand why the BBC don't just decide on one single layout for all their sites and stick to it. It's bloody retarded having a completly different layout between all the sections.

The new layout is bloody horrible. The only good thing with the beeb at the moment is their 1080i service on newer tvs on their iplayer app.
