I remember when my game was due to update. I fired up the Origin (Battlelog was off) and it started downloading patch automatically. Try that
 
Im having a problem with updating too, im getting very very frustrated.

I havent played in a while, i come to update, it says updating, sticks at 0% for a moment then says complete. I load game again, says it needs to update. Repeat.

I have clicked repair install and it went through and checked all my files, no problems. Go to update, same problem.

Try to launch game without the update and tells me the game isnt installed. Had a bad day and just wanted to play some BF3, now feel like throwing my PC out the window.

Any advice?

It never used to, I had to wait until I got the MAV before I got the surveillance ribbon.

Edit: Oh right its still only giving a spotting bonus like I thought, not a motion assist.

Had some good games on smogys kudos to lukext great flying on Caspian with the helicopter, once the TV missiles get patched should be even more fun had them bounce off helicopters to many times today

T-UGS do give points anyone detected by T-UGS that are killed by your team give you a spotting bonus.
go test it on metro or seine crossing as they can detect people through walls etc and they are heavy infantry camping maps.

SOFLAM seems full of **** though , i thought it was suposed to be yet ive never seen SOFLAM designate a target on its own even when one is directly in its path
if your manually using soflam its a job and a half to follow jets aswell as the camera turns so bloody slow

yet i stick one down and it never spots anything unless im using the camera myself...

Some public servers have this KPD ratio script that if your kills far outweigh your deaths you get disconnected and banned from that server !!
Avoid this server if you have any skill at all " BF3 for Fun (starts with 4 players!) "
Always get a good ping with that server, not anymore i guess.
 
That reminds me of the UK2 Counter-Strike servers that had a "speed limit", challenge was seeing who could get kicked first, good times.
 
That wasn't so good :(

Every time i fired an RPG and if someone killed me it vanished, I was emptying entire rounds into people and one hit kill i'd be dead. Guy ran towards me, I went prone and shot an entire round into his testicles, He killed me with one hit!

Then as I was running it would pull me back, next round same thing think I was lagging even though the server showed 24ms listing. Not sure what it was in game, can't tell
 
Getting a bit of the ol one step forward two back lag as well. Saying that though, i havent had a bf3 has stopped error in two days now. But ive probably jinxed myself saying that.:D

yea i was on there earlier got 4-1 quick and it booted me :(
sad thing is i usually only manage a 1:1 ratio but bf3 isnt about kills really you can have a pretty poop K:D ratio and still be high on the scoreboard
 
I have just reinstalled this and the game will no longer start, it just sticks on joining server or launching campaign and nothing happens
 
I'm still so loving this game!! Played it nearly 70hrs so far Rank 36 and can't wait for the extra maps to be added!!!

So if you get one kill and no deaths, your kdr is infinite, do you get kicked? :p

Some good games tonight on Smogsys as usual. Infantry maps are the best ones :)
 
Gotta love the runway campers, just circling in their jets waiting for jet to take off before you have a chance to do anything. Cant even take you on in a real dogfight.
Each to their own i guess.
 
Had a few good games tonight, although was on ukcs mumble.

Plenty of jihad CC4 jeeps with a partner and must have killed a good handful of tunuskas and tanks. Also managed to c4 up a number of alleys on seine crossing and kill some groups of soldiers :D
