***** The Official Galaxy Nexus Thread *****

I was beginning to wonder about that myself. The whole idea is the pure experience and that is that way mine is staying.

The whole idea for me is that the phone is a capable developer platform for people to take and modify as they wish. Its the same with every nexus phone.

I bought mine SIM free, but im on O2.

Vodafone have annoyed me.
Got txt yesterday 10mins after order saying it'd be delivered today.
Got another txt this morning saying that they dont know when it will be delivered.
Phoned them, 'order not on system, can you ring back at 9 when the warehouse is open?'.

Update:
Ace, not in stock, so the guy yesterday lied to me.
They dont know WHEN they will come in stock.
And because my number was meant to get ported this afternoon, i need to goto a VF store, give them all my details all over again, so they can activate another sim card with my ported number and new contract, that i can use until my new phone comes, just to prevent my Orange sim from going dead!
Not. At. All. Pleased.

and no one replied to me regarding dictionaty/predictive text when replying on forums... any ideas ?

No one's found a way to get predictive text in the browser yet. It's an annoying omission by Google. I remember Android 1.6 was like this...

Why are people rooting and faffing about? Have you totally missed the point of the Nexus... :p

I think your missing the point slightly too. Android is open source and customising is part of the fun. If you after a locked down experience, then a Windows or iOS is a better choice.

My Nexus is now meaner and leaner than the vanilla version.

Any of you guys with a Nexus notice better signal strength compared to previous phone?

At home my Desire is a whisker away from HSDPA and is currently on 3G all the time and I was wondering if the newer Radio/Hardware would/does boost the signal slightly?

Be a nice bonus if it did

I just oticed that onc you got signal, even weak, call quality is good.
I had problems with Desire HD.

as someone mentioned, wifi is not as good....at home instead of full bars, I get half many times.

i know mate same here, i really want it from the official channel as well. bit silly as people had it some 40 hours ago, seems nuts its taking that long or is not there if you check for it.

Does it not still depend on the network releasing the patch?

If so, surely it could mean weeks for some networks and immediate for others :/
