Hi,

So I have an old Archos 504, and I desperately want to get some decent content on it! With the tablet market exploding, I thought this would be an easy find - as surely people want to watch TV shows and films on their tablets.

However, i seem to have hit a dead end.
1. iTunes is something I've never used, as its invasive, in any event I am not sure if I purchased a video I could transfer it to my Archos and it would work.

2. BlinkBox, does not have The Wire or Mad Men.

3. Lovefilm, does not appear that you can download and instead only stream. Again it does not have The Wire or Mad Men.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
R

But how do tablets get TV Shows?

Must they have a constant net connection and stream from something like Lovefilm - or do they use something different.

As for the "manning up" - it used to be nicer on this forum. How about you cheer the hell up and start being nicer to people, it will improve your life greatly!

Unless they have updated it, the Love Film streaming quality is woeful and the selection isn't great either unless it's pay per view.

There isn't one. Which is why iTunes/iPad wins.

Amazon has a big marketplace and are pushing out their music and video streaming service with the release of the Kindle Fire, however in all their wisdom it is only available in the US.

The majority haven't been nice on this forum for years

!

Either you have iPad and use iTunes.

Or they obtain the tv shows illegally.

Or Zune, but no windows tablets yet, rumours are June/July but others say w8 won't be out till the autumn. Their are w7 phones out though.

People saying stream only, that's useless when you don't have a decent connection and costs a bomb even when you do have a decent 3G connection. Streaming only defeats the point of a mobile device. Maybe in 20 years time, when there is decent mobile Internet everywhere and it's cheap.

Sorry missed that.
Yeah bit odd. No more intrusive than other software.

But his second point is right, drm would mean he can't play it on his archos

It was my first experience with iTunes, many years ago, that put me off. It "helpfully" decided to re-organise my music and files. I spent ages un-doing what iTunes had done.

I presume this is not the case anymore, and that there is an option to stop iTune from doing so. I guess I will have to find out. I'll download a cheap movie off iTunes just to confirm that DRM will stop me from transferring it.

Going back to the subject of content providers - if/when Amazon launch the Fire + Amazon Instant Video in the UK, it will do well given the lack of competition.

There's no point downloading a Film, it won't work.
You can turn on certain aspects to get lbumn rt nd other stuff and I've never had it reorganise my music.
