Its time for the BBC to sack Clarkson?

I'm pretty sure Easyrider is just winding people up here (as usual), I don't think I've ever seen him make a remotely serious post.

Has he always been like this?

I'm fairly sure calling everyone uneducated constitutes a blanket insult as well, doesn't it?
I just feel sorry for him - hes quite deluded about a lot of things, you just cant help people like that, see sense...

Im sure in time the medical profession will have a term for his condition and hopefully treatment ;) Perhaps Offensive Gratification or 'Mary Whitehouse' syndrome...

The scary thing is Clarkson is no Monthy Python :p

ps3ud0

You only have to read his consistently (over many years) entertaining articles in the Times to understand that he is a very smart guy. He's also not afraid to speak his mind and therefore sits in with a number of other heroes of mine (Livingstone, Thatcher, Prescott, Benn, etc). All people who's views I did usually always agree with, but would defend their right to them to the end. Better this than fools like Blair, Brown and Clegg who duck, dive and weave at every opportunity.

Sadly we live in 1984, not 2011 and the thought police are out there, protecting us all from ourselves. It's a strange (to this 46 year old anyway) world we live in where words seem to hurt more than guns or bombs.

Free speech and free thought? We did have them at one point.

No, comrade, we never had them. We will never have them.

;)

I hate him,

He's offensive ,unfunny and out of touch with reality.

Last night on The One Show Clarkson stated about the public sector strikes "I'd have them all shot. I would take them outside and execute them in front of their families."

"I mean, how dare they go on strike when they've got these gilt-edged pensions that are going to be guaranteed while the rest of us have to work for a living."

So I pay my licence fee for Clarkson to plug his DVD and denounce public sector workers? The Guy needs to be sacked from the BBC. It's time the BBC axed him. I wouldn't pay someone in the street to insult me so why am I forced into paying for Clarkson?

So you want him sacked because he has his own opinion and wasn't affraid to speak his mind? Could you be anymore of a fascist?

**** me...grow up

i personally cudnt give a crap what he says on tv, i dont understand people who could actually think omg hes just said that! im ringing up and complaining!

he would never get sacked anyway hes got far more fans then enemys

21000 complaints and counting. Excellent work

Hopefully the BBC will have a rethink and refelct on who they employ using our money.

And to all the post's attacking my sanity and my sense of humour...I am perfectly sane and have and enjoy humour from many slants...Bill Hicks is one of my favourites and in a different league to JC both in terms of sunbject matter and being off the scale with un PC comments.

So...I'm not going to respond to you individually as you have all missed the point.

I can and do Blame the BBC for allowing it to happen and I can and do blame JC for being an unprofessional unfunny fat tool who is completely lacking any comedic skill and trys to shock for shocking sake which leads him to offend not only me but thousands of other people thinking he has the right to say what he likes in front of children who don't undertand.

I have no intention of justifying what JC said to my kids as it was disgusting to broadcast at 7pm.

It really is that simple.

4.4 million people watched The One Show when it was originally aired and only a fraction of the 21,000 people so far originally complained. Even if you include the 10s of thousands that jumped on the bang wagon after seeing the comments out of context it's still less than 1% of the people who watched the original broadcast. I highly doubt that ~0.5% will cause the BBC to change its hiring policy.

It is at least as much the fault of The One Show producers, if not more so. Is anyone complaining to them? I doubt it.

And again, is anyone complaining about Matt Baker's comments to big Dave? Hell, no.

Now? It's archaic, and has been nonstandard for centuries. Stop trying to come up with excuses for your rubbish English skills :p
Are you really that anal over a word? If yes then you're sadder than easyrider for getting excited over something as ridiculously trivial as a tongue in cheek comment on television. :p

Are you a loony?

He makes a profit for the BBC. He doesn't cost them a single penny.

He has been quoted out of context. Give it a rest will you?

If only I had the power to close this thread.

If Clarkson quit the BBC and the BBC stopped making Top Gear, the viewer number would fall in half, at least! Top Gear gets more views than the Snooker, yet the BBC (for reason) feel the need to shift TG around so they can show the Snooker, WHY?!

Second point, TGTV (otherwise known as Dave) has been quoted as saying that the repeats of Top Gear are the highest viewed show on their channel.

Just look at Scrubs without JD, one more small season and it failed.

Clarkson might be a dick (well some of you think so) but he's a very popular dick.

Now shut up and write into to Points of View

Bill Hicks is one of my favourites

Bill Hicks has got to be the most unfunniest comedian ever.
I watched a live concert and it didn't raise one smile.

Bill Hicks is not funny and if he is your favourite that's why you didn't get Clarkson's joke.

Anyway, since I actually watched the full video of Clarkson is there a petition I can sign that goes against the 21,000 sheep who have only heard the story third hand?
I don't like Clarkson but even I know it was a joke.

21,000 complaints.

More like 21,000 people without a sense of humour, not read the whole story and acting like a lemming.

He gave views from both sides, if there are offences for the negative, there should be support for his other side of his view, clearly, being a country of whingers that we are, there isn't.

Sounds more like 21,000 people had brain tumour for breakfast and lost their sense of humour.
