Well! Today looked like it was going so well and then all of a sudden it went down hill!...

My kit arrived at about 1030 while I was working so on my lunch break I rushed home to check all the bits were here and to my delight... They were!! :) so i began unboxing and installing the Parts taking vids and pics along the way.

I finished the build, powerd up the machine and went to check the bios. To my supprise I say the CPU temp at 78oc!!

It turns out the H60 doesn't have the right stand ofs! And the cooler wasn't even touching the CPU! Nasty stuff!

So a 1 and a half hour trip to ocuk is in order for a H80 lol should I use the stock thermal paste or use the ic diamond????

Use the ic diamond.

How on earth did you not check/notice/feel that the heatsink wasn't in contact with the cpu is beyond me though, extra especially so considering the price of the goods! oO

Good luck dude!

I know! :( but it must have been just mm off! :/ most confusing thing is the ocuk website listing of the h60 lol the title says its 2011 compatable but the description doesn't :/

How new is the H60?

Just because the current version is S2011 compatible doesn't mean that previous versions are.

2X OZC Vertex3 in a RAID0 config. Windows 7 64bit and all my programs will be loaded on to the RAID and pictures, videos, music and all other files will be on the 1TB Spinpoint.
(my docs will be kept on the RAID due to steam saving game data there)

Due to not having the correct standoff's for the H60, the H60 was replaced with a H80
