how many people buy alchohol and then dont want it?

I had a visit from my parents who came all the way from Nottingham for a two day stay.
They brought with them the christmas presents from all the family etc and some alcohol
40 bottles of various lagers
20 cans of various lagers
8 cans of pear cider
2 x 2litre bottles of pear cider
4 bottles of wine
some bottles of alcopop stuff

and I've been sitting here with an unopened can and a half drunk bottle of lager for 2 hours now!

Deep down inside I know I'll go from feeling tipsy to tired so fast it will all have just felt like a waste. I don't know how people can be stupidly drunk and not just feel like going to bed!

I'll quite happily get a mate to pay for a courier for it all, as they'd much rather that than having to keep feed me booze.

I'd suggest horsing one of the 2L bottles of cider, then using the empty plastic bottle as a funnel to get the 20 cans of various lager into you. Should wake you up.

I'm a student and am like this often. Not only do I not have the money to splash on boozing up, sometimes I'd rather have a nice cup of tea. Damn sight more refreshing.

Sometimes. I poured a mostly empty bottle of wine away yesterday because I'd opened it, had one, and then didn't fancy any afterwards. This is typical for any alcohol I drink at home as I only have the very occassional glass of wine.

I hate drinking at home, I find it boring and a waste, I only like drinking when I'm out with mates.

Likewise. It's very rare I drink at home. And with a missis and kid it's very rare I go out drinking at all

I know exactly what you mean. I used to be a big drinker at home. Now I really can't be bothered with it as it just makes me tired. I will have a few and even get smashed
When the occasion is right but that's gone from everynight to once a month or so. This all came about when I couldn't drink for a few weeks due to medication and I guess that just broke the cycle

I don't drink alcohol and have not done so for years, I make it quite clear to anyone I don't drink it, yet every Xmas someone always gets me some drink or when ever people come for dinner they bring a bottle, then when I try and get it open for them to drink they never want it. Always end up giving it away or to other for gifts.
