arrived in the post today, ive had a quick bit of use with it but don't think the texture of it suits me.

my current mouse is a Microsoft / razer habu that is on its last legs.

it has a Teflon like top and is fairly long, I can't seem to find a mouse like it, the coating, size and button placement is ideal to me

the g700 is shorter, possibly too short, but my biggest issue is the coating, I think my hands will get too sweaty on it.

shall I stick with the g700 or try something else? If so I don't know what!

any mouse I get needs to have at least 4 extra buttons than the standard left/right/centre click, with preferably the same or similar layout.

help me out!

its so similar to the mamba in looks, thats why i thought it might be a good choice.

My main concern is that my hands get very warm and the surface of the mouse is too plasticy compared to the habu

The Habu was designed by a combination of Razer and Microsoft, so it might be worth having a look at some of Razer's products to see if they appeal.

I have to admit, I had a Habu that sadly got used to death, but it was (and still is to this day) the most comfortable mouse i've ever put my hand on.

Gutted that they stopped production of it really, as i'd get another.

just to update, i have stuck with the g700 after not really getting anywhere with selling it, no i cant get rid of it, im still not 100% happy with the texture, just my hands getting to hot, but the buttons and the free wheel scroll wheel are fab, [really the wheel is fantastic to use.]

have assigned profile for firefox with tab switch on the left and right scroll, copy and paste, open new tab, go to search, close tab etc etc.

all the buttons are usable, battery life is good, wireless is responsive, happy camper especially as it was a replacement for another mouse

keeping it now for sure!

I actually bought one of these this afternoon and I am very impressed with it.
The pointer precision and feel for a wireless mouse is unbelievable compared to the MX Revolutions I've been using, so much so that it reminded me instantly of the feel of a wired MX 518 I have.
Might even treat myself to another one tomorrow.

The only thing I think might let it down is the fact that it needs a separate battery rather than a built in one.

This is not a problem! I keep a set of Vapextech 2900mAh batteries on standby so when one goes flat I pop in a fresh charged one. Some nights I have a late night and forget to put the mouse on charge so I found it much easier to just leave the other batts on standby and hotswap when needed.

The mouse is brilliant though, I've had every MX Laser mouse to date and the G700 is by far the best with the most customisation.

The only thing I have to say that's bad about it is that it's not compatible with the unifying receiver as it requires its own due to the increase in bandwidth it commands over all other MX mice.

My battery lasts about 2-3 days depending on usage but it does get used quite heavily and the polling rate is set to 500 with the power save mode enabled.
