New X79 Extreme Build

just thought i would add these aswell...

i think the PCB on GPU's just make them look rather ugly so i decided to get a back plate for the GTX 570 Classified

Done any overclocking yet? I have managed to get mine to a smidge over 4.6 on air, going to wait until my water loop is installed before I have a proper go. (I am running a 3930K by the way)

I see your using the Asus sabertooth mobo im thinking of getting this too would you recommend the board? was thinking either this or the deluxe?
 
Must upgrade more often - I have left it too long so the only thing I can salvage from my old PC is the dvd drive! Im looking at about 1800 - far more than I wanted to spend and that is with a 3930K
Nice build, hope to do something similar soon, though I have to decide between the sabertooth and the P9X79 deluxe..

i have done exactly the same thing left it far too long sinse i last upgraded and that is the price range im looking at also and i think im going for the sabertooth
 
I was considering it but the cost to performance didnt seem worth it, as I think its like a 10% performance increase over a 2700K for like 300% price increase. Otherwise i would do this as well.

yeah the Sabertooth is an awsome Board! i really cant fault it!... it is so dynamic in everything it does, i looked at other asus boards but the Rampage IV Extreme was too big and the deluxe for some reason just didnt appeal to me visually :p

i would recommend the Sabertooth X79 ;)

i fully Recommend the Sabertooth! it does everything and i personally think its great value for money :)

yes i thought the same... my cousin has an i5 2600k with a simalar gpu... (please see video below ;) ) and theres not a massive diffrence so i can see were your coming from.


i just thought that the 3960X would be the boss for a good while and would last abit longer thats all :)

thanks i was leaning towards the sabertooth but think you and from other peoples comments has confirmed it now all i got to decide is the graphics card im thinking of the Asus GeForce GTX 580 DirectCU II 1536MB ive heard a lot of good review about them

not really yet :/ ive had a little play with setting but not done anything serious. i will however be having a proppa go next weekend, my aim is anything above 5.0Ghz but i gotta do abit more reading up before i go crazy :P

would be intresting to see your settings if you have a thread i could have a butchers at? :)
