That is offensive - the cat actually tortures and plays with the snake.

And I dont see why the mods arent removing it, my video of a snake pouncing on and snapping a wabbit was removed.

Is this video acceptable? Please dont be offended, its a National Geographic clip:

Glorification and satisfaction of conquering your prey ... Kind of like fox or duck / pigeon hunting???

Oh, and what about people who have pet tarantulas and need to feed them live cockroaches and put videos of this up on youtube? Thats so barbaric and inhumane right? Think about the poor cockroach's animal rights!

The problem is that it's illegal to feed a domesticated snake live food as has been said by a snake owner earlier in this thread.

Hunting still remains legal in some cases and there are still restrictions put in place.

You don't seem to understand that this is a domesticated kitten and a domesticated snake and there are certain laws/acts governing the keeping of such domesticated animals. Although they may retain some wild instincts they are ultimately domesticated and it is up to the owners to abide by the laws in place.

The person or people responsible for these videos are clearly not following such laws and are simply demonstrating cruelty to animals. I'm sure that if they felt the need to feed their snake a kitten and capture the moment on video then they could, perhaps with difficulty, request the body of a euthanised cat from a pet home or shelter. At least this way there is no unnecessary suffering caused to the cat and the snake is still fed.

No matter how you feel about this situation it is illegal to drown pets and cause whatever other act of cruelty and suffering. It is not illegal to hunt foxes etc. nor is it illegal to cage hens (as long as the laws regarding battery caged hens are followed) for the production of eggs.

that's a natural act

So is snakes eating rabbits and many other animals.

Only in some countries, not in others. There are plenty of videos on youtube of pet snakes being fed rabbits from the USA, but no one got outraged enough over those to do anything against the uploader.

Unfortunately, it seems that I am not allowed to link to more such videos.

I have seen the drowning & the suffocating in vacuum bag & the feeding of the kitten to snake video.
Cats are not my favorite animals by far but,but no animals deserve to be killed like that.
The guy/gal needs to be caught and dealt with asap, he/she pure evil.

but a person feeding a live animal to another is not.

and it's illegal.

In the UK yes, in the USA and some other countries no.

A comment from the poster of a video who feeds his snakes live rabbits:

I don't do frozen foods, rabbits get stuffed with nutritious food first and i don't snap no rabbits neck or bang it against a wall. What do you think the ppl do when they kill the rabbit to sell frozen??? What do they do to cows and chickens before they sell it to you? Im not killing animals, im feeding the snakes the way they where intended to eat. If you don't like it then don't watch the rest of my videos!!!

I couldnt agree more.

isn't the killing of animals for entertainment purposes illegal in most countries (including America)?

If you think it is then feel free to browse youtube and flag several years old of live feeding to pet snakes as inappropriate or illegal and get them banned.

So far, they are still on there with age restrictions.

By your definition, National Geographic and other such wildlife channels are illegal. So is hunting, as that is killing animals for entertainment purposes isnt it?

One area where the USA law is actually better then our furrysexual nanny state.

Woe is me, Bhav I refuse to believe you cannot differentiate between a wildlife documentary and the clip referenced in the OP.

There is such an overwhelmingly obvious difference, so much so, that I believe you are either really, really thick, or are trolling. I really hope it's the latter.

Im currently referring to clips which mods wont let me post of live domestic feeding of rabbits to snakes from the USA, which are 100% legal.

In some places you are required to have a permit to feed live pets to reptiles or to have the reptile at all. In most cases, this is not true. However, most common pets that are known to eat live prey do NOT require it. Regardless, frozen or live, an animal must die for a carnivore to live.

I see absolutely nothing wrong behind any video of a carnivore eating whatever prey. Yes it makes great entertainment and lots of people enjoy watching it.

all those who still some how defend this guys actions or try to justify a cat being fed live to the snake... **** you.

how about we leave you in there with the snake?!

I've already asked a couple of days ago if he's trolling or stupid unintentionally. I don't see why people keep responding to him because he's obviously incapable or/and unwilling to understand what people are talking about. It's like he deliberately misses the point all the time. If it's not deliberate, it's even worse.

What type of snake was it? It probably wasn't big enough to be a threat to a human so being left in with it is hardly threatening...:D

EDIT: Having now seen images of the snake (no desire at all to watch the video) I can safely say that I would have no problem being left in there with the snake. You need a more dangerous internet threat to let out the rage.

It was also a pet snake, most likely tame to its owner, and aware that the owner brings it food to eat.

All of your posts make me physically mad.

Doesn't make it wrong either, and neither does something being illegal make it wrong.
If someone is capable of such a vile act for entertainment then there is something inhuman about them! Did you enjoy the video's of the suffering cats bhavv?
