Might cut off my hair for charity - Colchester Mind - Any lost hairers had the chop?

Hey guys,

I've had long hair since nearly forever..

(I'm the guy with guitar btw, not woman ;))

Its kinda nice when looked after, but its got a mess, i've not had it cut for at least a year, nearly two.. but the guts you need to cut it off, heh a lot. So I thought i'd try raise money for charity..

This is a shameless plug, sortof, I don't expect any donations as its mainly people who know me in person i'd think would donate..

But the thread is also wondering..
Anyone had long hair and had it all cut off? Did you feel the cold? was it good? It seems a bit scary!

I say ditch it, Its a look that I think should have been lost years ago.

I dont think Ive seen anyone look good with long hair in years. I think its only left for ageing rockers now.

Would make you look a lot cleaner and younger. Guitarists in bands can be clean cut :)
 
Mine went from about a foot long to about 2 inches long (hair I'm talking about here before anyone makes some joke xD)
The only change in temperature I noticed was my ears were colder - suddenly exposed to the wind. It's a nice idea though. Best of luck. I'd give money if I wasn't a poor student...

P.S. Being GD, I'm guessing promising more pictures of the girl on stage with you in return for donations would work well ;)

It's been over 4 years since I had that much hair, got it chopped in a random barbers near colchester oddly. Only advice I have is get rid of it, don't let a mate keep some of it in a bag (it wasn't nice) and remember to sun cream your neck for a few days as mine burnt so much on the first day...

That and pics of band lady now to garner interest in the cause
 
I know the sort of thing you're going through (the barber said that a few years ago he would have had to pay me to get that much hair, used to use it for wigs ;)), but once it's over and done with, and you've gone through maybe a day or two of people saying 'omg where's your hair gone' it's not that big of a deal.

Definitely don't cut it because Hedge tells you it looks bad, it doesn't. Cut it because you want to cut it (if indeed you do want to cut it :p). If you raise some money for charity in doing so then all the better :)

No, i didn't 'feel the cold', but then i did do it in the summer. Was it good? Meh, it's easier to look after. But it's not like you can't grow it back.

Hairs a mess, I don't know if many of you have had this problem but I seem to be addicted to pulling out hair, maybe its a pain thing, even though it doesn't exactly hurt, but when I can't sleep or just sitting around I can pull out hair easily.. Maybe its stress.. But its caused a lot of split ends and mess.. urgh.

I will put more photos of that night up when i've found them, they appear to be missing from the facebook, must be on my PC though :).
