If the police are not interested then why bother with the insurance.

Quoted for the sad truth it is. . . . . . . .

I'm in no way condoning this sort of behaviour but given the sheer greed of the majority of insurance companies now-a-days, the chance of getting caught and the pathetic repercussions that "could" arise if caught is it any wonder more and more people simply aren't bothering with insurance?

are you gutted because you couldnt have got a whiplash claim in? or that you think it'll cost more to fix a scratch?

What kind of post is that?

Clearly he's gutted coz he was hit by an uninsured driver and now has to fork out of his own money to get his car fixed, you might not care about your car but i'd be devastated if it happened to me!

OP is in a situation where there's literally nothing he cando about it, the police i think were well out of order for their part, and i'd be inclined to go above them and complain to them how your call was handled! To the point i'd give it to the papers, i'm sure i'd want to know if my police force didn't give a rats arse about their public!

You've probably not lost out after you take into account higher premiums for a few years until you can stop declaring the claim.

It could have been a lot worse, move on and forget about it.

You should have said he was getting aggressive and was threatoning you. Stated there were kids about and didint want them to get hurt. Police would have been there in no time.

Do you not think its a sad state of affairs when you are confronted by firstly people who blatantly flout the law and instead of the "crowd" of people being on the agreived side are in fact standing up for the wrong doer!!

It just beggars belief that it seems this is seen as the "norm" now. I applaud you for standing you ground and getting at least a token gesture!
