*****Official Star Wars: The Old Republic Thread*****

My problem is that the order does not show up in my Origin, and from there with all the emails its gone from bad to worse. Tho for a while a STD copy showed up, now thats gone missing as well :p

did they ever email you the keys? maybe you need to try and register any keys on the actual starwars keys on the website for them to properly show up

Yeah they emailed some then withdrew them saying they sent the wrong pones then sent ones again, but have still not made clear what version they for :p its a right circus :D

They then tried to say that it not showing because I have not registered the pre-order key, but as I said I already have a pre-order key resisted, from there they then refunded and we went around again in a circle

think i need some help on this. not entirely sure how it's going to work.

back many months ago i preordered the CE of it and logged my code. recently i wussed out and downgraded my order with game to a normal one which i plan on picking up as soon as they'll sell it. my first question is will this affect my early play time? and secondly how do you actually get on early? is it through game or do i get mailed it? if so...they're gonna mail me based on my CE preorder yes? confused!

Preorder codes are for all versions, the retail code you get in the box will tell the system what version you bought.

Bioware will be emailing early access details this week supposedly.

ok so in that case....example is 15th rolls around, bioware mail me the details and i download the game to play, 20th i go to game and buy my full version to be able to continue playing? cuz that way it sounds like i get 5 days of playing even if i don't end up buying the game. not that i won't, cuz it's awesome. just seems too good sounding.

Really? I just got my pre order code & reciept of order, put the code in on swtor.com and thats it, no further emails, then again, I didn't really expect more until billing/dl link etc..

Although yeah, when I log into Origin I cannot even find where to track orders!

Correct and yes it is a bit of an oops on Bioware's end by allowing that, servers will probably have a pile of people taking up space on early access that have no intention to actually buy the game anymore.

Meh, it's the same for most MMO's. I seem to remember pre-ordering STO, cancelling the order after trying the beta then playing during early access and the 7 day grace period after that getting to max level then uninstalling. Not something i'd normally do but they didn't deserve any money for that game at launch :p

Yup you and everyone else, me on the other hand paying for my sins :( ..and there is a lot to pay for :D

Is there any point pre-ordering this now, Play.com say they have early release access (no pre-order on amazon funnily enough) but am I correct in thinking If I order it so close to release I won't get the 5 day early access?

You won't get 5 days but i think they've said everyone (unless they preorder on the 19th or something silly) will get a minimum of 1 day.

Go shopto rather than play, play are terrible!

Yeah same here think you will get one day at least most likely 2, would not get it from play.com, a) would not trust the key to arrive for early access and b) I would bet you get the game 1/2 days late.

Like me :)

My code is in there, but haven't decided whether or not I will actually buy the game.

Depending on the amount of pre-orders, they may just let everyone on at once to keep them happy. There were around 2~ million people on the servers for the stress test weekend and I doubt many more have the game pre-ordered, so it shouldn't really be an issue.

We'll see.
