Sometimes I'm ashamed to be British...

Would it annoy DD that I am a naturalized Brit, born in South Africa to a mother who was born British to immigrant Russian and Estonian parents?

Urm Pakistan and India don't prove your point at all as Pakistan was formed from radicalism at the time of India's independence from the British empire... (when Ghandi wanted to keep a unified India as religious difference was not prevalent till it became radicalised)

Britain being 71% Christian sounds highly unsubstantiated, especially if you assume CoE = Christian in this context (ignoring the very large variety of Christian denominations)

I think you might actually need to provide some evidence to show that people of different cultures can not live in one country, instead of providing some country names, a percentage then a religion (especially given that religion does not equate to culture and is not a reliable marker for "difference")
 
Sobbing woman denies tram race rant


A woman broke down in the dock today as a video allegedly showing her racially abusing fellow passengers on a busy tram was played out to a courtroom.

Emma West, 34, appeared at Croydon Magistrates' Court charged with a racially aggravated public order offence.

She bowed her head and sobbed as the three magistrates watched the footage, which has now been seen more than 11 million times online.

After the foul-mouthed video was played to the packed court, the court clerk asked West, of New Addington, how she wanted to plead.

"Not guilty," she said.

Wearing a blue blouse and a black cardigan, she wiped tears from her face during the hearing.

For most of the time the video was played, around two minutes and 20 seconds, she was doubled over, out of sight from the public gallery.

Friends and family gathered to give her support.

The hearing was adjourned until 2pm to give time for West to prepare reasons for her not guilty plea.

She was remanded in custody.

It's a farce, I agree. That doesn't excuse this stupid woman though.

Quite, one doesn't justify the other.

In my opinion the Woman shouldn't have been remanded (although it appears it was for her safety) and the girls involved in the assault should have been punished far more severely (although the DM is hardly an unbiased source regarding the truthfulness of the judges reasons).

The both broke the law, albeit one being far more serious than the other.

Well mately, she’s there for a good reason. You would have thought that with all the peace and quiet she should have worked a reason for why she’s pleading not guilty.

She really is thick if she thinks shes not guilty with the proof being there for all to see in black and white...

Awwww how nice to see DD still backing her to the hilt even though shes as guilty as im guilty of breathing:p
 
Incidentally why does she need to 'prepare reasons for her not guilty plea'?

I thought the onus was on the prosecution to prove guilt, not for the defendant to prove their innocence.
