Yes I hope that some sort of common sense prevails later and that even if found guilty as she probably will be, she is released from prison.

Thats not what I was asking for, thats proof extremism exists, not that societies just can not live together because of cultural, religious or ethnic differences.

By Ireland I hope you are referring to Northern Ireland, which to a large extent has rejected the extremism of the past and by in large co-exists despite multiple cultural/ethnic identities in the area (I was fine to live there for several years).

So I repeat, cultures and religions can live side by side till I see some ACTUAL PROOF of what your are talking about. Actual proof that there are open rejections of one culture by another culture based on something like religion in a modern day democratic society.

Considering what she's done, she can't have too many complaints.

I have to say though, it hardly reflects well on the people on that tram that it looked as if they were going to physically assault her (the guy behind her especially).

People also seem to be under the impression that she would have been beaten senseless had she not had a child with her, which suggests to me some sort of widespread, more hidden prejudice....

Yes I can see that you are rather gleeful about it all.

Whether one likes her or her views, it should be amply apparent that keeping her in prison all this time is outrageous.
