Battlefield 3 thread - Server details in opening post -

Left mine updating over night and it showed my update was complete 15.4GB!! I thought the patch was only 3-4gb

the Limited edition (LE) patch was 4gb, standard one was 2gb ish iirc.

that sounds like its re downloaded the whole game AND the LE patch, cos the game was around 11gb.

yup if you have the limited edition version its 4gb, as it includes files for the DLC content for kark etc

Can anyone confirm the rumour that all the co-op weapons are now unlocked for all?

Or is that only with certain server settings?

It seems like the co-op scores needed for weapons was reduced as I now have 4/7 of them and have only done 3 missions. Before I had none unlocked.

yea i dont see the point it will only lead to people beeing kicked off servers because they have a 100ms ping or whatever..

i seem to ping 20-30 acording to people ive asked but does it really matter? if u can see pings? you can see your ping to the server on the server list anyway

Not a problem now I can search for just UK based servers though.

My thoughts on the patch:

I love it

The IRNV nerf is fantastic, you no longer feel at a disadvantage for not using it. I now actually feel like I am behind cover when I'm behind cover. I'm no longer a big orange mark on the other players screen, which is doing wonders for my kill count

AN-94 is AWESOME. Used it before but now it is even more deadly, fires 2 bullets in the same place in a split second, it's the ultimate double tap.

The game seems a lot smoother, I'm having a lot less instances of me feeling I should have got a kill when I didnt, all in all I'm very impressed.

And regarding the "not seeing your own ping"?

As the detection is mostly client side, other peoples ping to you is more important than your ping to the server.

Hi guys, at work so can't browse game websites. Is there a way of telling the power of guns in the game? Often unsure which gun to use as you only see range and fire rate etc.
